C. Draft Program Description
There is only one event each year in the metro Washington area where all the IT
Leadership of the Department of Navy (Navy and Marine Corps) gathers to provide insight
to industry regarding current programs and future initiatives - the 9th Annual AFCEA
NOVA Naval IT Day, April 15, 2010 at the Sheraton Premiere in Tysons.
More than ever Information Dominance is paramount to our warfighters. Additionally
changes in Capitalization & Personnel are large priorities. These are “BIG” issues!
These senior leaders will share their vision and plans for embracing technology, addressing
Information Dominance at Sea and Ashore. The need is to acquire/develop/deploy
superiority for our US Navy and Marine Corps forces throughout the hostile world of
today.
Senior military and civilian personnel will go into great detail to impart their vision,
requirements and strategies to our audience - addressing near-term implementation efforts
with direct impact to vendors. Naval IT Day gives Industry an opportunity to evaluate
where there R&D dollars are best spent in support of future Navy and Marine Corps needs.
Information Technology is ever-increasing within the military as a major driver in support
of the warfighter, and industry can be a large provider of solutions with knowledge gained
from this IT Day.
Since the world of information dominance is complex, the speakers will address how
industry and government working together can tackle these tough issues. Naval leaders will
discuss the translation of requirements into investment strategies. In addition, there will be
afternoon sessions to address additional requirements and acquisitions.
Naval IT Days provides an understanding of IT in today’s warfare and how Information
Dominance is the key enabler to ensure we prevail in conflict. You will not want to miss
this opportunity to learn about Navy and Marine Corps direction within this important
topic. Additionally, there is a great small business program; displays from Major
Commands; and, as always, great networking with Naval Leadership as well as the many
industry organizations in attendance. You will not find a better environment to work with
and support our mutual commitment to our Armed Services and the future of our country.
