2. Supervising the field research area operations.
3. Conducting and laying out research trials related agronomic parameters of Soil Salinity Division.
4. Surveying of forage range grasses ALP-site Kharian.
5. Working as Project Incharge in ALP Project “Assessment production potential of sown pastures in
Pabbi Hills, Kharian”.
6. Working as team member in ALP project Entitled, “Soil Salinity Monitoring Under Various Resource
Conservation Technologies (RCT’s) adopted in different Agro-Ecologies”.
7. Help for writing up annual progress report of ALP Rangeland Project and ALP Project Soil Salinity

B. Ground Water Community Organizing and Development Activities
1. Organizing community tube well groups to improve agricultural productivity on sustainable
basis and alleviate poverty in Kamalia & Muzaffargarh areas of Punjab, productivity and
livestock (nutrition and health).
2. Farmer to farmer visits to discuss and guide individual problems.
3. Survey of Kot Adu area SCARP tube wells regarding feasibility studies to start a similar project,
C. Soil Reclamation and Land Use Projects
1. Layout of trials on reclamation (chemical and biological) and use of salt affected
soils.

2. Scientific use of brackish ground water.
3. Cultural practices and effective method for Sowing of crops on salt affected lands.
4. Efficiency of fertilizers, weedicides/herbicides, insecticides and best seeds for different salt affected
lands.
5. Raising of nurseries and establishing plantations of salt tolerant trees like
Eucalyptus, Guava and Acacia etc,
6. Advisory services to the farmers on above mentioned aspects.
7. Maintenance of financial records and technical data.
8. Writing Urdu articles and pamphlets.
9. Growing of forest trees all normal as well as salt affected soils by creating awareness in farming
communities.
10. Training of male and female farming communities about the growing of forest trees.
D. Agricultural Farm Management
1. Management and maintenance of the research farm consisting of 164 acres.
2. Supervision of field staff and maintenance of record (crops, stock, expenditure and income register).
3. Conducting research trials of various nature including agronomic reclamation, plant nutrition, water
quality, salinity and sodicity.
4. Production and multiplication of pure seed of rice, wheat and other crops.
Motivation of the local framers through demonstration work to adopt the modern technology being
evolved at the research farm.
E. Oil Seed Development Project
Dissemination and popularization of new technology of oil seed crops (sunflower, safflower, mustard,
canola & mungbean). This technology includes introduction of new varieties, appropriate seed rate,
preparation of seed bed, suitable fertilizer dose and method of application, irrigation and insectides. This
technology was transferred to the framers through formation of farmer groups, meetings, filed visits,
trainings and distribution of brochures.
F. Cotton Development Projects
Organizing farm groups and motivation to grow more yielding cotton varieties and adopt new agronomic
practices. Training of the field staff and farmers through training & visit programmes.
G. Miscellaneous Experience
1. Providing Advisory services to the farming community on crop production technology.
2. Recording of radio talks for dissemination of the technology.
3. Holding of the Farmer’s day and training programmes.
