Explorer Trading Card Assignment 8th Grade World History The Explorer Trading Card assignment is a great way to practice research skills and to learn more about European Explorers. Students will be using the resource center as well as the computer lab to conduct research and create their trading cards. Your Project: Each student will be assigned one explorer to conduct research on. Once the research is complete, the student will create a card of the explorer with a picture and name on one side and the historical information (Statistics) on the backside. Six identical cards should be made to bring to class for a trading game. Each card should include: 1. A picture of the explorer on one side with his name 2. A detailed description of his life and accomplishments on the back such as... - Dates when he was born/died, - Where he came from - Who he sailed for - What his significant findings were - Other events or information that was important Your Grade: This project is worth 30 points. Students will be graded on the quality of the information and neatness of their trading cards, which will be due Friday May 28th to be traded in class for note taking. Good Luck and have fun.
