Fred Barnowsky Memorial Scholarship This $1,000 scholarship is being offered through Polson Dollars for Scholars in memory of Fred Barnowsky, a long-time resident of Northwest Montana . He was employed by the Forest Service and was one of the early smoke-jumpers based out of Missoula. Criteria for the receipt of the Fred Barnowsky Memorial Scholarship is as follows: Applicant must be a Polson High School graduate currently attending any accredited twoyear, four-year, or vocational school.
