School of Nursing & Midwifery Job Description Nursing Lecturer Primary Function; Nursing Lecturer at the School of Nursing & Midwifery is responsible for planning; coordinating and delivering a specific nursing modules in a SON & M. They are to create a student centered environment accessible to all learners. Job Duties 1. Facilitate student teaching / learning Processes by: 1.1 Prepare, deliver, and assess teaching & learning activities that are consistent with programme learning outcome. 1.2 Deliver the course syllabus utilizing advances in virtual learning and variety of teaching/learning methods. 1.3 Undertake teaching load of 5 credit hours every week during the academic semester. (the academic semester is 16 weeks) 1.4 Maintains a scheduled office hours /week for students inquires. 1.5 Counsels students on maters related to their academic performance. 1.6 Engage in student’s active learning, encourage critical thinking, and evidence base meta-cognitive inquiry. 1.7 Maintains teaching files and students course records. 1.8 Develop and maintain the formative and summative student evaluation. Engage in Collaborative services to the School and the Community: 2.1 Serves in the School and if required RCSI- MUB’s committees. 2.2 Participates in the School Nursing Academic Committee (SNAC) and other group meetings. 2.3 2.4 2.5 2.6 2.7 2.8 Engages in activities which enhances RCSI-MUB,s relationship with the wider community. Lease with nursing administration units at MOH, BDF, and other health facilities in Bahrain. Coordinate activities between the nursing programme, other faculty, and administration units in RCSI-MUB. Participates in peer evaluation and mentors new instructors and clinical preceptors. Participates in the annual school orientation programme, and other social activities. Understand the use of VLE technology as it applies to student learning and RCSI-MUB academic standards and strategies.
