Influences (or, Background Information) A. Paragraph describing in detail an influence on author’s writing career or writing. Type * where you think you will need to cite a source. (Lecture on that requirement will be delivered soon – bring refreshments) B. Paragraph on another influence - * where needed C. Paragraph on another influence - * where needed D. Paragraph on another influence - * where needed We had said that a writer must have at least 4 influences on his or her writing career or writing. So, you must have at least A. thru D. Or….follow your outline by developing each of the letters in section II into paragraphs. III. Title (or, My Plan) A. Paragraph summarizing the literature you chose(*needed) Or…. Follow your outline. B. At least one paragraph that discusses what that work reveals about your author’s “philosophy of life” or some sort of core belief or predominant theme in his or her writing. C. Paragraph discussing another author’s opinion on your author and any reaction or opinion you might have on that critic. (* where needed – try to quote the critic) D. Paragraph on another critic (* where needed) IV. Write a conclusion for your paper – Don’t try to be fancy or “earth-shaking.” Just review what you discovered and make some sort of overall comment on the writer’s literary status or contribution. Check Roman numerals, letters, and count paragraphs. 4. Check for *’s. There should be at least _____? On time with all 4 requirements completed = A (Due by April 28 ) On time with one of 4 not completed = B On time with 2 or more not completed = Inc – correct and turn in next class for a B or C. Turned in more than 3 days late = F Never turned in = 0 and F on paper, assuming paper is turned in. (Even if final copy is turned in on time)
