If Burgess needs to reschedule a class, students will be given the option of either rescheduling or a full refund. Class Satisfaction Policy If at any time a training customer is not totally satisfied with their training experience, they should first contact their instructor during an out of class time. If they are unable to resolve the issue with the instructor, or prefer not to deal with the instructor, they can contact the Training Manager, Kate Carpenter by phone at 207-443-9554 Ext. 113, by email at kcarpenter@burgesscomputer.com, or in writing or in person to Burgess Computer, 101 Centre Street, Bath, Maine 04530. Customers not satisfied with their class will be given the option of retaking the class at no cost or receiving a pro-rated refund for the class less the cost of any training materials and textbooks. In the event that students can not satisfactorily resolve any concern with Burgess Computer representatives, they can contact Harry Osgood, Maine Department of Education: 207-624-6846 or harry.osgood@maine.gov Attendance Policy Because of the short duration of our programs, students are strongly encouraged to attend every class. In the event they miss a class, we can provide lab time and instructional assistance to allow the students to cover missed material. For students attending programs where they are not self paying, most reporting requirements require us to notify the payer if the student is not attending the classes as scheduled. Standards of Progress Our classes are all offered on a pass/fail basis and there is no internal grading system. Students desiring a “Score or Grade” are encouraged to utilize certification exams at an authorized testing center where applicable. Burgess Computer is an Authorized Prometric Testing Center. Inclement Weather In the case of inclement weather, Burgess Computer typically follows the closure status of Bath Iron Works (a major nearby employer) for the shift coinciding most closely with the class times. Students may call the BIW facilities status line at 207-443-3311, Option 2, for the status of each shift. More detailed inclement weather instructions will be distributed by email prior to class. Wherever possible, the instructor will work with the Training Manager and students to make up for instruction time lost due to weather cancellations.
