CNEE 126-Switching & Routing: Student Learning Outcomes:
M. El-Soussi, Fall 2004
Students should be able to successfully:
1. Install, configure, maintain, and document a small to medium size Local Area Network using Virtual Local Area Network
(VLAN) features according to customer specifications.
2. Configure routing protocols to run over Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) using Variable Length
Subnet Mask (VLSM) and Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR) for a given set of specification.
3. Configure and test Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), static Network Address translation and Port Address
Translation (NAT/PAT) over a frame-Relay circuit, using Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) for two Wide
Area Network sites.

Hostname, console, enable
and telnet password
configuration
All routers are assigned
hostnames
Access to a router is
accessible using
password, telnet is
accessible using
password
Successful Ping
One or more passwords are
missing from one or more
routers, a hostname is missing
None of the routers
are configured with
passwords or
hostnames
N/A
Unsuccessful Ping
Frame-relay circuit is
up and running with the
proper DLCIs
Two hosts attached to
the router pick up IP
and gateway
Frame-relay circuit up but
with incorrect DLCIs
Frame-Relay down,
connection failed
Only one host is assigned IP
and Gateway
Hosts are not
picking IP IP
addresses or
Gateway
Interfaces configuration: Ping
all interfaces
Frame-Relay establishedDLCIs mapped
DHCP: Hosts are assigned IP
addresses

issuing show ip route
Clear ip nat trans * and verify
