Living in Somerville is hard depending in which part you live in and
how you think. The parts that are hard to live in is east Somerville and in
winter hill depending if you let everything be as it is and ignore it or if you
get involved for you suppose safety. No matter your age you could even be
seven and join a gang called La Mara Salvatrucha and they are the worst all
they do is commit crime because that is what they call their so called
missions. The schools you have to stay away from are the winter hill
community school and now the Somerville High School. The big people
who suppose run the gang are Mexico and Caca frita.
The people you have to stay away from are people wearing black and
gold or black and yellow they are the Latin kings, red and black are the
bloods, blue and white are the MS-13 or la Mara Salvatrucha, blue and black
the MS-18 or 18 street, and blue the crips. For me I didn’t join a gang
because I find no point fighting for a color or a street block the streets aren’t
theirs they are the presidents.
If you are someone who doesn’t think and joins a gang you can’t
really go any where with out having to look behind your back every five
minutes or so checking if there is a rival gang member around you for the
ms-13 are the Latin kings, and the bloods, for the crips is the Latin kings and
bloods, for the Latin kings are the ms-18, 18 street crips and sometimes
bloods, for the bloods its the ms-13, ms-18, crips and sometimes the Latin
kings. I have been lucky and walk by gang members with no problems but I
can’t speak for everyone. If you see an ms get his phone out or yell trucha
slang for salvatrucha run if he doesn’t see you because they cant do anything
by themselves because they need backup or hear a blood yell “sooowooo!”.
The smartest thing to do is to find a place to hind because they see you run
they chase you and jump you.
When I was asked to join the ms-13 I asked what do I have to do to
join and what do I get if I join they told I get protection, money, and girls I
asked what do I have to do to join they said you get jumped for 13 seconds
by the 13 biggest and strongest people after I heard that I said right away I
don’t want any bronca or trouble but can you guys leave me alone and don’t
bother me again.
For some weird reason and sometimes but it rarely happens, if there
is a corrupt cop, they will help the ms-13. After that talk, I never got near a
gang member since then. The only way to disrespect a gang is to insult the
gang or color or by dropping your flag. Once your in there is no getting out
because if you drop your flag you over. If you get a mission from a powerful
person you have to do it or you become the mission.
One thing that I don’t understand is why they call themselves a family
because a family teaches you good things not bad. The funniest thing for me
is that all MS are scared to be by themselves because if you are by yourself
they will call more people to come with any type of weapon like knives,
bats, or pipes. In a group they big alone they don’t do anything.
I will never forget some of my friends they made a group called the
RES or the Real Eastville Soldiers I did not think it would grow but it did
like in a couple of days they were thirty deep they are tough because they
got Mexico running. They started small but they got really big. They asked
me to join but I said no because I don’t want to get in trouble with any
gangs. The people I know are only a month or a year older than me.
In “Daville”, what made it hard for gang members to meet in public
places was that if there were more than six people together in a group the
cops will go and investigate what’s going on but you really didn’t see that.
Sometimes it was easy if you a gang member but if you were not it was hard
to tell if some was a real member or a wankster (fake gangster). The things
gang do the most is kill or fight rival gangs, break into cars or just stealing
from people. I realize it but many don’t, but gangs are everywhere and are
doing many things. It’s hard for me to show my face in Somerville with my
brother near hot spots.
Now someone that I know is trying to get here. If he gets to
Somerville it will become a dangerous place to live in. I wonder why cops
pay attention to little things and not the big things like gang violence.
After reading or hearing this it tells terrible thing if you think of
getting in a gang because my words are terrible but truthful so be smart
don’t join even if you have friends or family don’t join because of that but if
you do its you who might get your family in danger for the most stupid thing
to do and join a gang because they don’t provide you with anything that you
will use in your life.
