Narrative Writing Project Requirements for Social Studies
Directions: I know that you are all excited to be working on your historical narrative project for English class. Wouldn't it
be great if you could also work on this project for Social Studies class? Well your dream is about to become a reality!
One of the many ways in which we study history is to find primary sources. Primary sources are sources of information
that are actually from the time period you are studying. Primary sources can be physical objects from that time period or
individuals who lived during that time. One of the best ways to learn about history is to interview and speak with people
who were actually there at the historical event. Since you will be interviewing an individual for your English project who is
at least 60 years old this give you the opportunity to hear about the recent past from a primary source.
You are to add the following Social Studies questions to your interview and your historical narrative. This would be an
example of a secondary source. Then please print out two copies of your historical narrative. Turn one copy into Mrs.
Marshall and the other into Mr. Gigliotti. Have fun and learn!
