Job Description: Are you looking for meaningful work during the school year? If so, join one of
the most important events to come to Charlotte. Passages is an interactive museum exhibit for
the entire family, running mid-September 2012 thru mid-February 2013. It will feature artifacts
from The Green Collection, the largest privately owned Bible and ancient manuscript collection
in the world. National media venues have recently shared this development with over 60 million
viewers. We are looking for docents to interact with visitors and answer questions about the
exhibit, as well as costumed guides who will take on the personification of people from various
time periods and interact with visitors. They will be assigned to specific rooms which represent
historical time periods. In addition, we are also looking for people to fill roles in the gift shop and
admissions. We will be hiring about 20-25 people of all ages. The positions will range in hours
from 15-30 hours per week. The exhibit will be open Tuesday-Saturday, 10am to 6pm and
Sunday, 12pm to 5pm, closed Monday. This is a great opportunity for a drama major, school of
theology student and anyone who has a heart for helping people understand Biblical history and
its textual tradition. Pay will be $9.00 per hour with flexible scheduling for fall classes. The work
season may start for some positions in the middle of August and for others it will run
simultaneously with the exhibit (mid-September thru mid-February 2013).
