Pantry. Each month we continue to see our box fill to overflowing with a variety of items for families who are in need of food assistance.

FOCA POSTCARD CAMPAIGN:
Thanks to all who took the time to address the Freedom of
Choice Act postcards to our U.S. Congressmen and
Representative. A total of 300 postcards were mailed on
Monday, March 9 th . We are grateful to those who contributed towards the postage. Thanks.
Parish Nurses
Our Parish Nurses provide Prayer Shawls to anyone who is in need of comfort and support.
The person who makes the shawl prays for the recipient every time they work on the shawl. If you are aware of someone who would appreciate such a shawl, please contact the Parish Office and we would be happy to send one. There is no charge. Our Parish Nurses have received and distributed a total of 1,542 glasses and 57 hearing aids! Thanks.
Lenten Toiletry Projects : Once again we will sponsor this Lenten Project that benefits several local agencies who serve the needs of men, women, and children. We suggest the following
NEW items shampoo & hair products, toothpaste and toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving cream & razors, hand lotion, soap products. All sizes are welcome and may be brought anytime during Lent. Thanks for your support.
Recycle-Reuse-Reduce : The March drop off weekend provided over 800 lbs. of newspaper/33 lbs of aluminum cans. Thank you for recycling and thanks to the dedicated and new volunteers. Next drop off weekend is April 4 th & 5 th . Earth Day will be on

Liturgical Tidbits: Music Ministers: Who are the music ministers in liturgy? We refer to the instrumentalists and vocalists who lead us in song as the music ministers. And so they are.
However, this can be misleading, because WE, the
COMMUNITY, are the primary music ministers in liturgy. Our job is to sing the songs, to witness to our faith to one another through our singing, and to encourage others to do the same through our enthusiastic song.
It is important that we support one another in song and that we hear one another and are not overwhelmed by electronic amplification or muted by sound-absorbing materials. Singing together is an important element of the liturgy which transforms us from independent individuals to a unified worshiping body.
If we feel we do not sing well, we can always remember that Psalm 95:1 invites us to make a "joyful noise" in our praise of God.

Most people do not realize that the costs associated with the death penalty are substantially higher than those associated with life imprisonment. In the United States, the cost of executing a person is two to six times higher than imprisoning someone for life. Individual counties have often had to raise taxes just to pay for one capital case and execution. Many states could save millions of dollars per year if they abolished the death penalty.
