worksheet for final exam review

REVIEW FOR THE EXAM
The exam is a timed test that takes four hours. There are two parts to the test – Hands On and
Scantron.
There are no surprises on the final exam. The students are prepared for the Scantron portion of the
final by completing the review packet (attached). The teacher goes over the completed packet with
the students and answers any questions that arise. The students are prepared for the Hands On
portion of the exam by completing an Integrated Project. The Integrated Project mimics the Hand On
portion of the final exam – again NO SURPRISES!
EXAM PARAMETERS
The Scantron exam includes 154 Multiple Choice and True/False questions.
The Hands On portion of the exam requires the student to create a database, spreadsheet, chart,
word processing, a desktop publishing document, a movie, and an electronic presentation on the
computer. They will be using Microsoft Office 2007 programs: Word, Excel (including charting),
Access, Publisher, Movie Maker, and PowerPoint.

Dear First Name:
¶
This is a block style letter. It is the easiest letter to type because everything begins at the left margin with
no indents.
¶
Watch the spacing! There are three blank lines after the date, and three blank lines after the closing (like
“Sincerely” or “Thank you”). There is one blank line everywhere else-between paragraphs, or before and
after a chart is you insert one into a letter. Look at this letter for the spacing. Also, space your letter so the
date and everything after it are centered on the page-the letterhead MUST stay in the top two inches of
the paper! That is why this particular letter has extra line spaces before the date- the letter looks nice and
centered on the paper.
¶
Some other points for your letter include making text boxes for your graphics and other parts of you
letterhead. Make the textbox invisible when you are finished placing everything. Spell out your date, and
use a comma in the correct position! A closed punctuation letter will have a colon after the salutation and
a comma after the closing. Look at this letter to see an example of this. Sign your letter in blue or black ink
after the closing, but above your typed name. Good luck on your exam and study hard!
¶
Sincerely,
