This does not include quizzes; there is no penalty for missing quizzes. LAB SAFETY OR HEALTH POLICY: There will be times when you are working with material which can do harm. You should always were Safety Glasses in the lab. There may be times when you will need to wear gloves. You will be informed by your instructor of any other special requirements. You will also be informed of all hazards associated with the chemicals or procedures that you are using. Material Safety Data Sheets, MSDS, will be available for all chemicals that you use and if you need help in interpreting the information it will be provided by the instructor. Revised: 7/23/07 jac 1 POSSIBLE SYLLABUS CHANGES: The testing schedule is flexible depending class progress. But there will always be at least 5 exams EVALUATION METHODS: 1. Written Test A multiple choice, fill in the blanks, label the parts, essay, or other form of graded tests or examination. 2. Direct Observation Watching the student perform the task or sequence of tasks. A checklist would be useful for assessment purposes. 3. Paper An assigned term paper or research project. Does not include written projects described in #4 below. 4. Written Project Plans, diagrams, blueprints, price estimates, worksheets, spreadsheets handed in to assess student performance. 5. Projects Includes the production of a product, assessment of a repair, assessment of a service. 6. Oral Presentation A presentation given to a class or group of students. 7. Other Any method of evaluation not described above.
