Dayton, VA: The Virginia Adult Education Research Network. ERIC Document
ED362713. This guide is written in three parts: an introduction to practitioner
research, a list of the stages or steps found in most research projects along with
suggestions for each, and a series of case studies illustrating the stages discussed

Drennon, C.E. (1994). Adult Literacy Practitioners as Researchers, ERIC Digest
Report No. EDO-LE-94-03. Washington, DC: National Clearinghouse for ESL
Literacy Education. This digest examines thinking that underlies practitioner
inquiry, explains the phases of an inquiry process, and gives examples of projects.
The report also identifies concerns with the approach and suggests changes that
must take place for inquiry to be viably implemented as a staff development

Doing: Participatory Action Research by Juliet Merrifield discusses the
advantages and disadvantages of Participatory Action Research (PAR) to
