“All New YARIS…That’s Right” Press Conference on 22nd October, 2013 at Central World
LIVE, 8th Floor, Central World.
Toyota Motor Thailand recently introduced its sport hatchback that is dreamily articulated for
life in the city. Featuring a cutting-edge and sporty look, the All New YARIS is fully redesigned to
particularly attract the young generation and able to respond lifestyle needs. The optimization of the
car’s exterior aerodynamics is more agile and fun-to-drive while the interior becomes more spacious in
its passenger cabin than rivals. A new 1.2-litre, 3NR-FE, 4-cylinder, DOHC gasoline engine, with Dual
VVT-I, which is exclusively developed for the functionality of Thailand and a Super CVT-I automatic
transmission contributes to superior performance and fuel efficiency. The All New YARIS also
encompasses improved suspension and global safety standards. The all-new Yaris offers an
impressive array of safety features such as standard driver and front-passenger dual-stage airbags
(SRS). Its feature includes Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA) and Electronic Brake
Force Distribution (EBD), and seatbelts with Pre-tensioner & Force limiter as standard safety package
in all trim levels.

gasoline engine exclusively designed for Thai auto market and Super CVT-I (intelligent CVT

Exterior...a revelation of a completed redesign from headlights to tail lights
The Yaris is redesigned in all of its perspectives in accordance with an aerodynamics basis.
The base of the front pillar has been pushed forward and that of the rear pillar, backward – making the
side profile look longer. The all-new sheet metal brings with it a large trapezoidal lower intake, a slim
grille with small intake openings and chrome bars that intrude into the glass of the angular headlamps.
Its sportive exterior is finely formulated by both the front and rear designs which express a wide,
strong and unified stance to create an elegant appearance with seamlessly integrating lamps, side
moldings, rear garnish, and roof spoiler.

Interior… Roomy and comfortable for all functionalities
Roomy passenger cabin is framed with convenience and functionality in mind. It sits on
2,550 mm wheelbase (90 mm longer than the previous model). The front / rear seat couple distance
has been increase to 912 mm (46 mm longer), rear leg room increase to approximately 663 mm
(77 mm longer), and rear seat shoulder width at 1,310 mm wide (10 mm wider). An overall length of its
rear overhang is 690 (120 mm longer) resulting in the cargo space length of 734 mm (140 mm longer)
and a top class cargo space volume of 309-litre interior has been secured. The All New YARIS is
finished with sporty black interior along with quality and finely-crafted interior materials such as dark
silver center console, athletic premium steering wheel, sports gauges, a smart automatic air
conditioning system in new A/C control panel design that have automatic climate control systems,
including full of innovative technology and smart ideas that make it truly convenient.

The All New YARIS is powered by a new 1.2-litre, 3NR-FE, 4-cylinder, DOHC gasoline engine,
exclusively developed for the functionality of Thailand, paired with Dual VVT-I (Variable Valve Timing
with intelligence), which adjusts timing on both intake and exhaust manifolds resulting in improved fuel
economy, engine output, and emissions performance with Euro 4 standards passed. Seamlessly super
CVT-I automatic transmission produces smoother ride and better acceleration. EPS (Electric Power
Steering) contributes to lighter steering weight that offers precise ride control and accuracy allowing
lower fuel consumption.
Responsive driving dynamics in the Toyota New Yaris feature;
(1) Aerodynamic design in a ‘catamaran’-shaped roof helps streamline airflow over the top of
the car, and its height has been reduced to establish a sportive trait, including the
underbody, have been smoothened and sealed to reduce turbulence
(2) Small aero stabilizing fins are present on the side mirrors and tail lamps to create air
vortices that improve the vehicle’s straight-line stability
(3) A body platform with reinforced joints provide more strengths and greater durability
(4) Smooth and stable suspension for a smooth ride that is possible by the front McPherson
strut suspension with stabilizer in front and torsion beam suspension on the rear and coil
springs for an effective stability
