DIRECTIONS TO NYIT MANHATTAN CAMPUS FROM AIRPORTS
By public transportation:
The Eighth Avenue (A and C trains), the Sixth Avenue (B and D trains), and Broadway (1 train) lines stop throughout the day at
Columbus Circle, a half-block south of the Manhattan campus entrance. They stop at NY Penn Station for those traveling into
Manhattan via the Long Island Rail Road, Amtrak, or New Jersey Transit. For those arriving at Grand Central Station via Metro North
Railroad, take the No. 7 train or the S train (Grand Central-Times Square shuttle) to Times Square-42nd Street and transfer to an
A,B,C,D, or 1 uptown train to Columbus Circle-59th St.



From JFK International Airport (JFK), take the AirTran to Jamaica Station ($5 fare). From there, walk to the subway
entrance on the ground level at Sutphin Blvd/Archer Ave and take the E train towards World Trade Center to the 7th Ave stop.
From there, transfer to the uptown B train to 59th Street-Columbus Circle. For additional travel information, please visit

From LaGuardia Airport (LGA), several city bus lines link LGA to the NYC subway with free transfers provided for
Metrocard users making subway connections. One of the quickest options is to take the Q33 bus from Central Pass Terminal
to Roosevelt Ave/82nd St, transfer to the 7 Train and take it to Times Sq/42nd St. stop, then transfer to the A train and take it to

From Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), take the AirTran to Airport Station, where you can connect to
a NJ Transit train to NY Penn Station. When you buy a NJ Transit ticket to or from the Airport Station, that one ticket includes
the AirTrain Newark portion, which is $5.50. From NY Penn Station, you can take the A, B, C, or D uptown trains to 59th StreetColumbus Circle. (Estimated cost $15). For additional travel information, please visit http://www.panynj.gov/airports/newarkliberty.html.

Taxi service:

From JFK to Manhattan – the flat fare is $52 to the first destination (plus tolls and tip). The taximeter and receipt should reflect
that this trip is a flat fare.

From LaGuardia, the estimated fare is $29 - $37 (plus tolls and tip).

From Newark, the estimated fare is $60 (plus tolls and tip). During weekday rush hours - mornings (6AM to 9AM) and
afternoons (4PM to 7PM) and on weekends (Saturday and Sunday from 12PM to 8PM) - there is an additional $5 surcharge to
all points in the State of New York, except Staten Island.
By Car:



JFK International Airport (JFK), take the Van Wyck Expressway (I-678) north to the Long Island Expressway (I-495)
west. Take the Long Island Expressway to the Queens Midtown Tunnel into Manhattan and follow signs uptown. Please visit

From LaGuardia Airport (LGA), take the Grand Central Parkway west to the Triborough Bridge into Manhattan. Take
the FDR Drive south to the 59th Street exit and travel west on 59th Street. For detailed maps, directions, and information

From Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), take Route 1-78 east toward the New Jersey Turnpike. Take
1-95 North exit toward Exits 15E-18E/Lincoln Tunnel. Take Exit 16 onto Route 495 eastbound through the Lincoln Tunnel.

Car Rental
JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark Airports provide various car rental services (visit airport websites for agency lists.) Please check with your
service directly for availability, reservations and costs. In addition, these rental agencies provide frequent free shuttle bus service
