PILOT BIO Launching into the air show circuit at the age of 50 in a one-of-a-kind aircraft certainly qualifies Jacquie Warda as an extraordinary pilot. She was introduced to aerobatics in 1986, when she received her private pilot’s license and was convinced that aerobatic flying was her destiny. She entered the International Aerobatic Club sanctioned competition in August 2000 and has rapidly progressed to the Advanced category. She continues to hone her skills through coaching from award winning air show pilot, Wayne Handley. Aerobatics is her passion but not her only flying interest. Inspired by over 20 years of watching the Reno Air Races, Jacquie trained to compete in the 2002 races in the bi-plane class. In her inaugural year, she brought in an impressive 6th place showing in the Bronze class. The following year, she advanced to the Silver class and again finished 6th. Jacquie continued to race at Reno in 2003 and 2004 finishing in the middle of the Silver class. Her Reno results yielded feature articles in several publications including an article in Pacific Flyer. Air shows captured Jacquie’s interest from an early age. During the 100th anniversary of powered, flight in 2003, she retired from the legal profession and realized her dream of becoming an air show pilot. She holds the distinction of being the first female pilot to enter this business at 50 years young. 555 Zephyr Circle, Danville, CA 94526, 925.437.1330 ChixnAirTrix@Lycos.com Jacquie has logged over 1,500 hours of flying in a variety of aircraft including a Stearman, AT-6, T-28, Beechcraft King Air, Baron & Bonanza, Aeronca Champ, Citabria, Decathalon, Lancair, Sukhoi and Extra 300. Her favorite aircraft is her unique Pitts S-1T. Her “Red Eagle” is one of three Pitts built to fly an air show around the Statue of Liberty during the 1986 centennial celebration, which followed Ms. Liberty’s refurbishing. The paint motif is both beautiful and patriotic. She currently holds a Commercial certificate in land-based aircraft as well as a seaplane rating and holds an unrestricted, Level 1 A.C.E. card. Jacquie has been featured in publications such as Smithsonian Air & Space, World Airshow News, Sport Aerobatics, Atlantic Flyer, Fly-Low, Pacific Flyer and InFlight USA. Mrs. Warda’s love of excitement is evident in her hobbies as well. When she’s not flying, she likes to skydive, golf, play tennis, fitness/weight lifting train, and ride her Harley Davidson motorcycle in Danville California, where she resides with her husband. Before she discovered that she would “rather fly than eat”, she also surfed, ran, took 14 years of ballet training and learned several languages. But why does Jacquie Warda call her business Jacquie B Airshows? Because she’s Jacquie BABY!! 555 Zephyr Circle, Danville, CA 94526, 925.437.1330 ChixnAirTrix@Lycos.com 1986 Pitts S-1T Specifications: Wing Span………………. Length…………………... You are not only a fantastic flyer but such a wonderful ambassador on the ground. Your fan base has increased by thousands. Your biggest admirer is one of our Airport Authority Public Safety employees! Since he carries a gun, he is a good guy to have on our side! Thanks for the help. Heck, we could just have you perform at every show and all would be happy. Having performed at our third largest ever Springfield Air Rendezvous in 2005, complete with a lineup that included such greats as the US Navy Blue Angels, a US Marine Harrier Demo, and a USAF Heritage Flight that included the F-15, a P-51 and an F-4 Phantom, you have acquired tons of fans in the Midwest including your peers. Your interview style with the media is easy going and all smiles which is just what the public wants to see. Your ability to interact with the fans is amazing. You certainly have the right attitude to be an icon among the female aerobatic air show performers. As you know, it’s important to let the girls know that aerobatic flying is not just a guy thing. Girls can fly hard too! Jacquie, we had so much fun with you at our show. Everyone on the air show committee is totally in love with you. You are welcome back to Springfield anytime. As you know, we’d love to have you pop in for visits on your way to and from other sites. I’ve already been planning a party at the lake with Jacquie B as the guest of honor. We’ll see if your water skiing skills match your flying ability. Then, we’ll let you drive the boat while towing our favorite airport authority-Jacquie B fan. Don’t tell him what we have planned. Can’t wait! Jacquie, we at Springfield Air Rendezvous wish you all the success in your air show career. We look forward to seeing you each and every year whether it’s on our schedule or stopping in for a visit. You are top shelf. Your success will come as long as folks give you a chance to come to their show like we did and perform like you do! Best Wishes for a successful 2006 air show season. Sincerely, Kim Curry Air Show Coordinator Springfield Air Rendezvous 555 Zephyr Circle, Danville, CA 94526, 925.437.1330 ChixnAirTrix@Lycos.com
