Clinical Professor in Nursing
I was appointed the Assistant Dean for the RN to BSN Program. I am responsible for the
organization and presentation of the RN to BSN Curriculum. I work closely with the Assistant
Dean of the School of Nursing to make the RN to BSN Program grow. I assist in making the
teaching assignments, supervise the faculty, advise students, market the program, as well as teach
some of the courses.

Clinical Assistant Professor in Nursing
I was the Director of the Associate of Science in Nursing Degree Program until the Program was
suspended. I was responsible for all aspects of the ASN curriculum, planning, and organizing
Faculty teaching assignments, advising students, and supervising adjunct faculty and other
support staff. In 2003, I was promoted to Clinical Associate Professor.

I was appointed to the position of Clinical Instructor in Nursing. In 2001, I was promoted to
Clinical Assistant Professor in Nursing. This was a full time position where my primary duties
are teaching students and providing professional service in the clinical setting.

Lecturer in Nursing
I was employed as a full time lecturer in the ASN program at Indiana University at Kokomo. My
responsibilities included lecture in A107, Introduction to concepts in Nursing and A109 Basic
Nursing Skills. I also served as lead teacher for A143 and A144, Nutrition/Elimination and
A250, Legal and Ethical Issues in Nursing. I provided learning experiences for students in
laboratory classes, small group discussions, large lecture sessions, and clinical settings.
I assisted with establishing evaluation criteria, evaluating students and program evaluation. On
the IUK campus, I have served on many committees including Curriculum, Faculty Affairs,
Faculty Grants and Development, Student Retention, Protection of Human Subjects, and
Budgetary Affairs. I have also served as the Secretary for Faculty Senate. I served as President
of the Local Nursing Faculty Council for two years, 1992-1994. I have developed programs to
integrate community based nursing into the Associate Degree Nursing Program. I was the
Consultant to the Student Nurse Association and have worked closely with them to develop a
health screening program for indigent individuals within our community.

Home Care Coordinator
At Home Health Care, I was the Home Care Coordinator. It was my responsibility to supervise
all direct care personnel. This involved registered nurses and home health aides. I was
responsible for ordering supplies, formulating schedules, screening potential patients, doing
initial patient assessments and evaluating the staff. I also worked closely with the local hospital's
social workers to provide the best possible plan of care for the patients following their discharge
from the hospital. The agency had a daily patient census of 80 - 85.
I was the instructor in a class to certify Home Health Aides. This class was offered at Indiana
Vocational College in Kokomo. The class was funded by a grant offered through the Indiana
Association of Home Health Agencies.

Elementary School Nurse
At Western, I was responsible for the general health of the students in grades K-6, approximately
1,300 students. I worked closely with the High School Nurse. My main duty was taking care of
any student that became ill or was injured at school. I also worked with the teachers in
developing their programs for teaching health, first aid and drug abuse. I was responsible for
maintaining all health records and seeing that all students had the proper immunizations upon
entering school.
In the four years that I was at Western, I developed several new programs. I taught every third
grade class dental care. I started a screening program for TB in the sixth grade. In 1978 I
initiated a scoliosis screening program. At that time, it was the only screening program for
scoliosis in Howard County. In 1978, I also applied for, and received a federal grant to teach
nutrition to first graders. The grant was extended to the 1980 school year.
Besides being the school nurse, I was the assistant girl's basketball coach, the fifth and sixth
grade girls' basketball coach and the fifth and sixth grade cheerleader sponsor. I was also a
sponsor for the Adventurers Club for the gifted and talented students.

In the spring of 1980, I taught a first aid course at IVY Tech. In this class, there were eight
students, all in the automotive department. I taught basic first aid and assisted another in
certifying the students in CPR.

Staff Nurse
At Lancaster General Hospital, I worked on a progressive 38-bed medical-surgical floor as a staff
nurse. This involved providing primary care for our clients. I worked rotating shifts and was
frequently charge nurse. Lancaster General Hospital had a three year diploma nursing program
that I assisted by doing procedure demonstrations and orienting students to administration of
medications and management of a hospital unit.

Staff Nurse
At Margaret Mary Community Hospital, I rotated to various departments in the
hospital. I worked as team leader on a 50-bed medical-surgical floor. I gave all medications and
did all procedures on my team. In obstetrics, I was charge nurse responsible for labor, delivery,
post-partum and the nursery. On the geriatrics ward, I was the charge nurse responsible for
twenty elderly patients in a nursing home setting. I also was the charge nurse on the alcoholic's
ward. I was responsible for 38 patients being treated for alcoholism sometimes complicated with
drug abuse and severe emotional problems.
