Style Guide and Information for Authors Soochow Journal of Philosophical Studies: Style Guide and Information for Authors All paper submissions should be addressed to: Editor-in-Chief, Soochow Journal of Philosophical Studies, Soochow University, 70 Linhsi Rd., Shilin, Taipei, Taiwan 11102, Republic of China; or to the following e-mail: phstudies@webmail.scu.edu.tw Preparation of Manuscripts 1. Manuscripts should be typed double-spaced on standard paper, one side only, leaving generous margins on all sides. All pages are to be numbered consecutively. Manuscripts should not exceed a length of 20 pages. 2. Please send all submissions to the address above. Electronic submissions should be sent in an e-mail attachment in Microsoft Word format. 3. References, tables, and figures should be neatly presented on separate sheets of paper. 4. Authors are requested to double-check all names, dates, titles, and quotations for accuracy. 5. An abstract of no more than 250 words in English as well as 3-5 keywords should be submitted along with the manuscript. 6. The first page should be a title page containing the name(s) of the author(s), affiliation(s), mailing address, e-mail address and phone/fax number(s). Language of Publication 1. The language of publication may be either Chinese or English. 2. If the manuscript is in English, quotations from other languages should be given in English translations. All original sources of the quotations are to be indicated. Style Guide and Information for Authors 3. In transliterating Chinese characters, where well-established forms do not exist, authors are advised to follow the Wade-Giles system. Manuscript Processing 1. Authors are requested not to reveal their identities in the text, so that the manuscripts can be reviewed anonymously. To preserve the anonymity of authors in the review process, authors are advised to prepare manuscripts that contain no identifying information such as names, affiliations, acknowledgments, personal references, etc. 2. Except in rare cases, the review process will be completed within two months. Authors will be notified of the result of the review. 3. Manuscripts accepted are subject to stylistic editing. It is also the author’s responsibility to revise their manuscripts according to the suggestions of the editorial board. 4. If time permits, galley proofs will be sent to authors for correction. They must be returned within one week. 5. It is assumed that a manuscript submitted to the journal has not been previously published and is not under consideration elsewhere. The journal does not pay contributors. Authors will receive, free of charge, thirty offprints of their articles and two copies of the issue in which their articles appear. Citations 1.
