Profile
I am a Podiatrist and Specialist in gait/walking, Pathomechanics, Biomechanics and
general anatomy. I routinely use slow motion and freeze frame digital video camera
equipment to analyse gait clinically to assess and diagnose anatomical and skeletal
conditions. Forensic Podiatry and CCTV footage analysis are key areas of my practice.
I am principal Podiatrist at the Nuffield Hospital Wolverhampton as well as providing
Medico-Legal reports. I am a preferred provider of podiatry to West Midlands Police
(Occupational Health). My findings have been presented at The Royal Courts of Justice,
Manchester Crown Court, Birmingham Crown Court and others. I have been instructed
on numerous occasions by Manchester Police to assist in murder investigations. The
instructions related to forensic podiatry/CCTV gait analysis.
Legal precedent of CCTV/gait analysis started at The Old Bailey in 2000. Personal
acceptance of my specialism being deemed scientific was accepted by The Honourable
Mr Justice Maddison in February 2009 (URN: 06B10312708) and Judge Anthony Gee in
December 2008 (URN: 06B1271207).
Forensic podiatry is part of The Forensic Science Service. There is also a special
forensic podiatry group within The Society of Podiatrists (est. 2007) - our governing
body.
I have been practicing for seventeen years, eleven of which have been spent at the
Nuffield Hospital Wolverhampton
