Microsoft Word Project Ideas:
1. Poster (8 x 11)
a. open a blank document
b. have student create poster on desired topic
c. type title and text for poster
d. add background, boarder, and graphics to poster
e. print
How to add backgrounds:
a. click format
b. click background
c. select desired background
How to add borders:
a. click format
b. click boarders and shading
c. select desired boarder
d. click ok
Adding graphics:
a. click insert
b. select insert picture
c. select insert clip art or picture from file
d. Insert into document
Copy and paste from the internet:
a. Highlight the text or picture from the Internet you wish to use by
holding down the right mouse button and dragging across the
object.
b. Click the left mouse button and select copy.
c. Go back to your word document and left click the mouse button
again..
d. Select the paste option.
2. Creating a Hotlist:
a. Type the title of your Hotlist at the top of the page.
b. List the topics you have internet information to use during your
lesson.
c. Highlight each topic and go to the hyperlink button on the menu (world
with a link under it).
d. In the box provided you can type the ULR address.
e. Select ok.
f. Your text should turn blue. Click the text to access the website.
or
Type the ULR address on the document page and press enter. This
should turn the address blue and link you directly to the web.

Open a blank document
Go to Insert on tool bar.
Select TEXT BOX.
Draw a text box on the page the size of the sticky note.
Type text.
If you would like to add a picture to your note:
1. Go to Insert on the tool bar.
3. Select CLIP ART.
4. Select a picture.
5. Insert and resize the picture.
How to print:
1. Print your notes onto a piece of paper.
2. Place a sticky note directly over the printed text.
3. Use Post-It glue or MonoAdhesive to hold sheet down during printing.
4. Put paper with attached sticky notes back in printer and print again.
Now you have a printed message on a sticky note!
Digital Camera Project Ideas:
1. Display pictures of your class on a webpage.
2. E-mail pictures to your local newspaper, parents, etc.
Social Studies Ideas:
a. City Landmarks- take a tour of your town and take pictures of
landmarks. Then use the pictures to create a book or
presentation about your town.
b. Local Government Buildings and Offices- same as above.
c. Economics-Have students locate goods and services and take a
picture of each. Label and categorize these pictures.
d. Family Tree- students can take pictures of their family and
create a family tree.
Science Ideas:
a. Simple Machines: Search for simple machines around the
school or town and photograph them. Or take pictures of the
machines on your own and have the students determine what
they are.
b. Phases of the moon: Use the digital camera to track the phases
of the moon over a period of time.
c. Scientific method: Students can take pictures of stages in an
experiment to track their progress.
d. Types of clouds: Photograph a series of clouds or have students
photograph different clouds and identify them.
e. Matter: Have students photograph solids, liquids, and gases.
f. Animals:

Math Ideas:
You can photograph the following items in school, around town, or at home:
a. Geometric shapes
b. Colors
c. Patterns
d. Counting/numbers
e. Telling Time
f. Measurement
g. Fractional Parts
Language Ideas:
a. Opposites
b. I spy: photograph any item and have the students describe it.
c. Environmental Print: Take pictures of signs around your school and
or town that students will recognize when they see it to help them
read words.
d. Compare/Contrast: Take pictures of two objects, people, or
places. Make a Venn diagram of their similarities and differences.
e. Adjectives: Take a picture of an object. Have students describe
it.

Using Microsoft PowerPoint:
1. Review for a test using PowerPoint. One great way is to use game show
templates to create a testing game.

to be a Millionaire” and “Jeopardy” template that can be downloaded
for free. All you have to do is type in your question and create the

b. Create a slide show of questions.
2. Create a PowerPoint introduce or review any skill taught in your classroom.
These files can be saved and used year after year. They are also very easy
to change as your plans or curriculum change over the years (with very little
work).
3. Have students create a slide show to show research finding, teach a lesson,
describe a person, event, place, etc.
