Priorities: Danger – Response – Airway – Breathing – Circulation
DCI: Keep the casualty quiet – Lie casualty flat on back – do not raise legs – administer
100% O2 – administer fluids

If diving-related incident, immediately contact DDMO (+44 (0)7831 151523) by Sat Phone for
D&G. DDMO takes medical responsibility for casualty

Recover to Guano Jetty, English Bay, or Georgetown Pier, or as directed by emergency services

If the casualty has been diving, remind Medical Services NOT to use Entonox

Complete BSAC Casualty Assessment form, and record incident and previous dive details

Evacuate to Medical Centre or Georgetown Hospital, or as directed

If DCI incident and the DDMO advises recompression treatment and aeromedical evacuation of
the casualty to a recompression chamber, Ascension Island staff to contact DDMO and UK Aeromedical
Evacuation Control Centre to initiate casevac iaw AP 3394 – The RAF Aeromedical Evacuation Service.
