PAY STRUCTURE (2)
The key element to every successful business is achieving increased profit
through margin.
End Of The Roll takes a serious approach to increasing your pay and the
store’s profitability, which is mutually beneficial.
The End Of The Roll Pay Structure that follows includes statutory & overtime pay:

If a salesperson achieves a monthly average below 38%, the following will take place:
1) All sales below 30% margin will be reversed to salesperson PM (Poor Margin).
This will increase your margin to an acceptable standard, which will then be paid
as noted above with a minimum commission paid of 7%.
2) Written notice will be given for below standard performance.
3) Upon receiving three written notices, this will be means for dismissal.
As you can see, by achieving and maintaining a high margin, it is an opportunity for a
substantial increase in pay. Here is a typical month for a salesperson and how it can
affect their pay:

It is obvious by the above examples that if you are looking for an increase in pay, look no
further than working a little harder and smarter with the help of Product Knowledge and
Sales Skills!
To support the initial three-month training period, we are pleased to provide you with
whichever is the greater amount: a wage guarantee of $1,750 per month (based on fulltime hours worked) or the above commission structure, with the reconciliation taking
place upon completion of the training period. Post training, commissions are paid on the
15th of the following month, minus month end advances and deductions.

sales, there are several other responsibilities that are required and earned
in your generous commission.

Upon reviewing and analyzing the Responsibilities, it is critical to note that all of the
points above will play a significant role in your ability to increase your income. Most
of these points are further detailed in the End Of The Roll Selling System. The Store
Manager is always available to review or help you accomplish these to the best of
your ability.

Ask your manager to login to Printer.ca (in the Members Area under “Promotional
Items”) to order your new business cards. Hand them out to let people know to
come and see you for all their flooring needs!
Once you have completed the Beyond Sales Training (see Section 7 below), you
will qualify for special, gold-embossed, Certified Sales Professional business
cards.

Ask your manager to login to the End Of The Roll Members Area under
“Promotional Items” to order the correct clothing sizes for you.
Also, email the Marketing Office (marketing@endoftheroll.com) to order one or
two name tags, specifying either a pin back or a magnetic back fastener.

THE END OF THE ROLL SELLING SYSTEM (7)
Welcome
Congratulations on being accepted as part of the End Of The Roll team! You now
have an incredible opportunity to earn a significant amount of money in a relaxed,
low-pressure atmosphere. Being in the fashion industry, End Of The Roll sales
people are some of the highest income earners. In the upcoming days, you will
be provided with Beyond Sales, a proven and simple approach to become
successful.
Commission sales is a psychological game, therefore a consistent and positive
personality is a key ingredient to dealing with customers. It is important that you
don’t get caught in the trap when traffic is slow. These are often the times to stay
the most busy with follow up calls, cleaning the store for the next customer, or
gaining valuable product knowledge. What you do during the downtime is
important for what will happen when traffic picks up. Be prepared!
Organization is a key ingredient to success. Having a small calculator on hand to
figure out measurements and prices means not having to leave a customer, and
is extremely beneficial. Also, having a notebook and pen for writing down
information on the customer, their choice of products, etc., will make you look
more professional and will help the flow of the sale go smoother. Not having to
ever leave a customer is a huge advantage.
There is also the 80/20 rule. The actual act of completing projects only takes 20%
of work. It’s the 80% of trying to prepare the actions that can waste valuable time,
which generally leads to procrastination! At the end of every day, write down the
six most important things that need to be completed the following day. If you
follow this religiously, you will find that your time management and ability to
accomplish tasks will be fantastic. Instead of showing up in the morning and
scrambling, you will be able to immediately complete your responsibilities and
generate more lucrative results, which will put you… above and beyond!

The most difficult part of any business is trying to get customers in your door. There
are several places where consumers can purchase flooring from, so it is important to
know and pass along the reasons they should purchase from End Of The Roll and
not waste their time going anywhere else. There is no question that because of the
variety of products, the niche we have created and maintained, and how we market
ourselves, End Of The Roll generates the most traffic in the flooring industry. The
customer who walks in looking for a carpet for a cat scratching post or vinyl for a
small washroom will be back for larger renovations, if taken care of properly.

Phone Calls
First impressions are extremely important. The professionalism you display on the
phone will play a vital role in whether the customer is going to enter your store. The
goal from a phone call is to try to get the customer into the store, as that is where
you will get their money. Be courteous and helpful. If you don’t have a certain
product they are looking for, try to inform them of where it may be purchased. By
doing this, you will get their respect which could potentially help you down the road.
There are several different ways in which you can answer a ringing phone. Some are
certainly better than others. Here is the most proficient and courteous example,
which you will use:
“Thank you for calling End Of The Roll. This is [your name here].” Nice, eh!
Here is the way to answer a call that has been holding for you:
“Thank you for waiting. This is [your name here].”
As you can see, they both are basic, courteous, and professional.
After Sales Service
Within 24 hours of the completion of installation, it is important to phone the
customer to make sure that they are satisfied. This is your opportunity to make a
great impression with the customer. If there is a problem, take care of it immediately.
Once everything is fine, put their name down one week later in your daytimer for the
final follow up call. Once your follow up call verifies that they are completely satisfied,
write a nice note on a thank you card and enclose a couple of business cards for
future business and referrals. Now that sale is complete, you are entitled to your
commission.
Product Knowledge
To instill confidence in a customer about the products you are selling, it is useful to
be aware of the construction, content, warranties, and benefits of the different types
of flooring products. There is no better feeling than being able to pass along valuable
information to the customer while they are contemplating a purchase. Whether it’s
visiting endoftheroll.com, reading pamphlets, or insisting on supplier reps to teach
you about their products, any additional information or reminders are advantages in
making you money. Remember, knowledge is power!
