Calculating Hourly Pay (S6-A1/L0-1)
or
Example: John works 8 hours every day. He makes $7.00 per hour. How
much money does John make in one day?
$7 + $7 + $7 + $7 + $7 + $7 + $7 + $7 = $56 (Add the money for every hour)
Or
$7 x 8 = $56 (Multiply the hours and the money)
1. Jan works 5 hours every day. She makes $8.00 per hour. How much
money does Jan make in one day?
$___________ a day
2. Mai works 33 hours a week. She makes $9.00 per hour. How much does
she make in a week?

3. Dan works 8 hours a day. He makes $6.50 per hour. How much money

Calculating Hourly Pay (S6-A1/L2)
or
Example: John works 8 hours every day. He makes $7.25 per hour.
How much money does John make in one day?
$7.25 + $7.25 + $7.25 + $7.25 + $7.25 + $7.25 + $7.25 + $7.25 = $58.00
(Add the money for every hour)
Or
$7.25 x 8 = $58.00
(Multiply the hours and the money)
How much money does he make in a week if he works 5 days per week?
$58.00 + $58.00 + $58.00 + $58.00 + $58.00 = $290.00
Or
$58.00 (money per day) x 5 (days) = $290.00
1.
Jan works 5 hours every day. She makes $8.00 per hour. How much money does
Jan make in one day? How much money does she make if she works 6 days a week?
