Mission
The University of Education strives to become a higher education leader engaged
in teacher education, graduate programs and research, which aims at educating students,
teachers and educational leaders and managers on the basis of close collaborations and
partnerships with schools, colleges, universities and other institutions nation-wide and
world-wide with a view to facilitating knowledge sharing; meeting the regional standards
and the partly international standards.

Staff
The University of Education is structured with an open and flexible model that can
effectively use the internal and external human resources. Apart from the teaching staff under
direct university management, the University of Education employs a contingent of teachers,
educational researchers and managers and emeritus professors who are from VNU's member
universities, as well as national and international research institutes, and other educational
institutions. The total number of academic and general staff is 287, including:

- 75 academic and general staff are directly under the management of the University of
Education: 03 professor, 07 associate professors, 26 PhDs, 28 MA/MSc, and 13 BA/BSc and
09 with other professional degrees.
- 182 teachers from VNU’s member universities that directly collaborate in teaching general
knowledge and other major subjects: 18 professors, 66 associate professors, 127 PhDs, 21
masters and 34 bachelors.
- 7 emeritus professors: 2 professors, 4 associate professors, 06 PhD and 01 master.
- 29 visiting teachers: 5 professors, 14 associate professors, 28 PhDs and 01 master.

Scope of Training
- Bachelor programs: 1200 full-time students and 423 part-time students
- Graduate programs: 650 full-time students; 450 students in International Joint-Training
Programs and 85 doctoral students.
International Cooperation
In the context of globalization, in keeping with the international development of
education science, the University has increasingly expanded its ties with leading
universities at home and abroad with a view to promoting information exchange and
carrying out co-operative activities on teacher education and education research. The
University takes pride in a network of global collaboration with around 100 world-class
colleges, universities and research institutes in England, France, America, China, Japan,
Sweden, the Netherlands, South Korea, Australia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, etc...
The University of Education is a member of Asia - Pacific Teacher Association
and Asia - Africa Colleges of Education Network; It is also Vietnam's representative of
University of Cambridge International Examinations (UK) - a major provider of
international qualifications for teachers.

The University of Education has been conducting more than 20 joint
training, exchange programs and research projects with America, Australia, China,
France, Japan, Netherlands, Singapore,Taiwan, Thailand, Sweden and UK.

Research Project on Women in Educational Leadership in Viet Nam with
University of La Verne, California and CHEER for Viet Nam, California;

Curriculum development for primary teacher training reaching international
standards with Canada’s experts, Toulouse-Le Mirail University and Nayang Education
Institute, Singapore;

Curriculum development for “living skill education” with Living Values
Organization.
Research
The University of Education strives to become a high-quality training and
research institution in education sciences with top priority given to application research.
The University has so far had 70 research projects at different levels, among which there
are 23 special projects in term of scale and issues at VNU level. These projects are of
practical significance and value, each specific to its own contexts and situations. 21
national and international conferences have organized to present and share up-dated
knowledge and experiences cross nations. Research projects, workshops and conferences
have had great impact to the University of Education’s development, as well as to the
practice of Viet Nam’s educational reform. Particularly, the project on "Designing the
process of professional development for teachers at the gifted high schools to achieve
international standards" is highly recognized of MOET and is under way at the schools
across the country and has had successful outcomes.

Scholarship
From school year 2009-2010, Grateful Sholarship Foundation is established by an
alumna, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nguyet to support students. 12 students already received
financial support to study.
