WELCOME MESSAGE
On behalf of the organizing committee and the program committee, we are pleased to
welcome your participation in the Second International Conference on Computer
Science & Education (ICCSE’2007). Held at ZhongNan University of Economics and
Law, WuHan, HuBei, China, the conference aims to create a forum for scientists and
educators throughout the world to present their latest research results and ideas in
the areas of computer science and education. The conference program of
ICCSE’2007 includes highly selected technical papers, panel discussions and three
keynote speeches by distinguished experts in the fields.
Wuhan is at the crossing of Changjiang river and Hanjiang river and it is also named
"River City" which is the center of the economics, culture and information of central
China and the area of middle Changjiang river and is usually being called " Nine
provinces thoroughfares ". Here has the typical natural scenery of Jianghan plain, the
climate and four seasons are distinct, there are also more than 100 lakes and
multitudinous mountains which are rare and uncommon for other metropolis; here is
also the cradle land of the culture of Jingchu, thus the humanities sight has rich
characteristic of Chu culture, it is one of the famous historical cities in China. We wish
you enjoying both the conference program and the beauty of Wuhan.

who had made significant contribution to the Research Council of Computer
Education in Colleges & Universities over the past decade and to people who had

COMPUTER SCIENCE AND EDUCATION (ICCSE):
PAST AND PRESENT

Computer science and technology advances quickly. In the tensely-competing
information society, a personal computer has become an indispensable tool for
individuals. New computer technologies also promote social development.
It is computer educators’ important task to introduce modern technologies to users
who may vary from new beginner to experienced professionals such as people who
work on scientific research. Therefore, to find more better methods, to seek for new
channels and medias and , especially , to consciously strengthen academic
communication and interaction globally are some
challenges for computer
education.
Since 1994, NRCCECU(National Research Council of Computer Education in
Colleges & Universities), CCEIC(Computer Continuing Education Institute of China)
and CETEC(Continuing Education Team of Education Committee of China Computer
Federation) have successfully edited and published twenty-three volumes of papers
which include “Chinese Computer Continuing Education and New Computer
Technology, 1994”, “Chinese New Computer Technology and High-level Continuing
Education, 1995” (two volumes), and “Chinese New Computer Technology and
Computer Continuing Education, 1996-2005”. All the papers have been distributed
and posted for open review and discussion during every annual academic seminars.
To improve international academic exchanges, the conference is renamed to the
International Conference on Computer Science and Education in 2006. The 1st
Interenational Conference on Computer Science and Education (ICCSE) had been
held in 2006 in Xiamen, China. The proceedings of the conference have been
published offically, and all accepted papers have been included by ISTP index.
On the basis of previous fruitful achievements, ICCSE2007 will serve as a new
platform for the scholars from different countries to share their thinking and vision
about new computer technologies and education.
