2006 Asia-Pacific Services Computing Conference (APSCC 2006) is the firth independent conference on service computing in Asia-Pacific area. It is the continuation of the 2005 International Symposium on
Business Excellence through Services-oriented Transformation (BEST 2005) held in Xi’an, China. Along with the European Conference on Web Services (ECOWS, http://conferences.computer.org/ecows), APSCC has joined the conference family of the IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Services
Computing (http://tab.computer.org/tcsc).
Service computing is a new cross-discipline that covers the science and technology needed to bridge the gap between Business Services and IT Services. The goal of services computing is to develop new computing technology and thereby enable more advanced IT services to support business services more efficiently and effectively. APSCC is a forum for researchers and industry practitioner to exchange information regarding advancements in the state of art and practice of IT-Driven Business Services and
Application Services, as well as to identify emerging research topics and define the future directions of services computing.
With the enthusiastic support from our academic and industry communities, the paper submissions we received this year are more than three hundreds, though it is the first conference of APSCC. We must thank the members of our program committee for their tireless efforts, together with those of our reviewers, to select one hundred papers for presentation and poster in the conference. The large number of contributions and the constraint of our program schedule mean we have to be more selective and disappoint some contributors whose papers we would otherwise have accepted. On the other hand, the more competitive acceptance rate has helped our conference reach a high level of standard.
This year is the starting in our APSCC history, which would not have been possible without your support, and the great efforts of our organizing team. So, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our co-sponsors, conference committee, program committee, reviewers, and the many other colleagues who have contributed in difference ways to the success of this event. We hereby would like to thank the members of the Publication Committee for their significant editorial work. In particular, we would like to thank all the authors for contributing their papers. Without the high-quality submissions from the authors, the success of the conference would not have been possible. Finally, we are especially grateful to the IEEE Computer
Society, IEEE Services Computing Community,Guangzhou Association For Science & Technology, and the
National Science Foundation of China for their sponsorship.
We hope you will enjoy your stay here in Guangzhou, a city which has been one of the frontier cities of
China economic revolution, an energetic outstanding travel city in China. And we hope you will find this conference rewarding and will continue your great support for the APSCC in the future.

Jinpeng Huai,
Professor & PhD
Beihang University, China
E-mail: huaijp@buaa.edu.cn
Abstract:
Peer-to-peer (P2P) and grid computing are widely considered as the next wave of distributed computing, which promise to enable the federation of heterogeneous and geographically dispersed computing resources to provide more powerful, reliable and uniform services in an open Internet with the self-organizing and dynamic nature. They strive to integrate various resources on the virtual organization, including computational power, data storage, communications, software and even expertises. P2P and grid technologies are evolving rapidly with the progress of Web Service.
This talk will first discuss a service grid middleware system, CROWN(China R&D Environment Over
Wide-area Network) project supported by NSFC. As the two kernel points of the middleware , an overlay based distributed grid resource management mechanism is proposed , the policy-based distributed access control mechanism with the capability of automatic negotiation of the access control policy and a trust management and negotiation mechanism is also discussed. Meanwhile, the talk will discuss some new challenges for future Distributed Computing because Client/Virtual Computing Environment is a promising direction with the development of distributed computing and the huge requirement of its applications, and
“Soft” issues, such as Availability, Reliability, Integrity, trustworthiness and Maintainability, are not soft compared to hard issues in an open Internet. So what are big challenges for future Distributed
Computing/Virtual Network Computing? The answer is that Service-oriented computing with dependability will be a Choice in the near future.

Abstract: Logistics is a branch system to support a complete systemized operation. Logistics may be a concept or a software in performance, where information is much more important connecting to all related branches into harmonized operation. Logistics has the characteristics of passing information from one to the others. Mobile Informatics is to create a new environment for persons to access information exchange with large distribute systems through wireless communication under mobile freedom, broadband superiority and privacy in security. Mobile logistics establishes message exchange on an Internet platform through mobile communication system. Mobile logistics demands location-based information to be aware of materials, supplies, manpower, facility, and other resources. Mobile communication changes the logistics in system structure and operation procedure. Mobile logistics promotes production chains into new era of Internet based performance to enhance efficiency. Mobile logistics becomes seamless cooperative from raw material to end user, internationally.
