Ecological & Environmental Worldviews: A Basic Bibliography
Patrick S. O’Donnell
Department of Philosophy
Santa Barbara City College (2008)
Some of these titles concern the science and philosophy of ecology and thus are not,
strictly speaking, about worldviews as such, although they are of course relevant to the
presuppositions, assumptions, beliefs, values, and praxis of environmental and
ecological worldviews. Yet other titles concern the ethics, politics and policies that
follow (or might follow) from adherence to environmental and ecological values and
principles. I have a companion list to this compilation entitled “Animal Ethics, Rights &
Law—A Transdisciplinary Bibliography.”
