EITS is looking for a vendor that will provide maintenance on our IBM hardware equipment that is listed below. This vendor must be able to provide similar support that has historically been provided by IBM. This company must maintain this hardware on an annual price for maintaining equipment and onsite assessments and support.
The successful vendor must be an authorized IBM Business Partner, with preference on Premiere level, must reflect commitment to the IT industry Technical Certifications (examples of certifications required), and must provide evidence of such affiliation with their bid.
All equipment and parts offered must be new and genuine IBM manufactured.
The vendor must include with their bid a minimum of five (5) references that is current or historical, preferably higher education institutions. These references must reflect experience with similar type projects as described in the detailed bid specifications. Provide contact point, phone number, a description of services rendered, and the dollar amount of the project.
Installation of any hardware and parts must be performed either by an IBM CE or by a technician qualified to install and maintain hardware in accordance with the terms and conditions of IBM’s product warranties.
The annual price must include maintenance and parts seven day per week, 24-hour per day, including holidays. The vendor must provide qualified engineering support personnel on site within two (4) hours of the determination by UGA that on site correction is required. Spare parts availability under this guarantee should be such that any replacement parts are accessible on site or have a planned delivery time of two (2) hours or less.
During the entire contracted support agreement, vendor must have full access to all IBM microcode and LIC updates. The vendor will be responsible to ensure all IBM equipment that is under maintenance contract stays current and up to date with such updates. All microcode or LIC updates must be tested and verified to not produce adverse effects on the day of installation.
Vendor must be able to handle all the Call Home requests (RSF/ESA) for all IBM devices that are RSF-enabled either by modem or IP functionality. The vendor must completely mimic the IBM RSF capability and ensure continued functionality of protection for immediate notification of any problems.
The vendor must be able to provide the following as part of maintenance agreement:
Intercept calls _ RSF
Microcode updates LIC updates from IBM
HMC updates and support
Genuine IBM new parts
Customer engineer with 10+ years’ experience, IBM trained
24/7/4 (7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 4 hour onsite response)
Annual maintenance covers all travel, parts and mainframe peripherals
IBM partner
Escalation path to IBM for exceptional problems that vendor cannot resolve.
Provide References with similar hardware and Educational system preferable
Bonded and Insured
The maintenance specified in this bid is for the period of July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014. Award will be made to only one vendor who will be responsible to maintain all materials, systems integration, and testing of all hardware and software.
The vendor will provide UGA with a consistent technical liaison, available via phone and onsite as necessary to resolve support, service, and other issues relating to maintenance of this hardware.
Additionally, this individual will schedule periodic on-site status meetings with UGA staff to review their current environment. The cost of the services of this liaison must be included in the bid price. A resume of the technical liaison must be included in the response to this bid.
Vendor is prohibited from sub-contracting any aspects of the service, excluding to IBM.
A performance bond in an amount of 100% of the contract amount must be submitted by the vendor prior to award.
Failure to provide any of the aforementioned may render your bid non responsive.
