 Solution Architecture: I have designed many different types of solutions mainly focusing
on Infrastructure Applications including Requirements Analysis and Detailed Design.
 Communication Skills. I have excellent communication skills and have delivered many

 Documentation Skills. I have written numerous proposals, solution designs and
responding to many EOIs, RFIs and RFPs.

I am currently contracted to ANZ and am worked on a few key projects – performing all
project phases from requirements definition, through to architecture and implementing – in
the area of application monitoring and security – focusing in particular on WebSphere
monitoring and application discovery.

IBM – Architect and Service Management Consultant

I am currently contracted to IBM and have worked on a few key projects:
 Customs NZ - Architect and UNIX SME – Worked within the Infrastructure Team for a
large IBM development project for NZ Border Management. Performed Architecture
design tasks, documentation, and support of 500+ Redhat LINUX servers hosted on
VMWare.
 ANZNB – Service Management Consultant. I assisted ANZ with a total upgrade of their
UNIX monitoring environment – which consisted of the BMC BPPM products including
PATROL Agents, Event Management Cells and BPPM Analytics. I acted as the Technical
lead and put the solution into production.
 Westpac – Infrastructure Architect. (Sept 12 to Dec 12, 2011) I wrote Solution Design
documents for Westpac for various projects such as: PCI compliance and the design of
Bank Branch IT relocations.

BNZ – Service Management Consultant

Designed a solution for Service Request Mgmt and Asset Mgmt using BMC Remedy. This was
a year long project in which I performed the following duties:
 Acted as the Technical Lead and Solution Architect
 Initially responsible for project management and requirements definition.
 Wrote the High Level and Detailed Solution Design
 Performed the development and configuration of the product.
The solution required 3 interfaces: (a) SAP HR for Staff records; (b) SAP Asset; and (c) Active
Directory. I developed the interfaces using PERL. Remedy Development was conducing using
Eclipse and Remedy Workflow.

Service Management Consultant

Worked as an Independent Consultant writing solution designs for key customers such as
Vodafone, AMP, Macquarie Bank and ANZ.
 ANZ/NB – Service Management Consultant. (Mar 2010) I wrote a Solution Design
document for the replacement of Patrol Enterprise Manager (PEM) and PATROL with
BEM and ProactiveNet.
 Vodafone – Service Management Consultant. (Feb 2010 to Mar 2010). I wrote two
Solution Design documents for Vodafone. One solution design involved the integration
between Telecom and Chorus’s B2B gateway for the propagation of incident records into
Remedy. The second solution design involved reporting requirements in the area of
Service Management for the Vodafone Business Units.
 AMP – Service Management Consultant. ( Dec 2009) I wrote a Solution Design document
for Event Management and Notification using BMC Event Manager and Alarm Point.
 Macquarie – Service Management Consultant. (June 2011) I performed a code review of
Macquarie’s BEM implementation and then helped the Bank roll the solution into
production.
Achievements:
 Wrote many solution design documents for Westpac, ANZ, AMP, Vodafone and
Macquarie.

Technical Consultant – HP Software. I was the Pre-Sales Consultant for HP Software and
Services in the Wellington office.
 Solution Designs – Wrote solution designs, proposals and solution concepts for many
customers in Wellington. Writing has always been one of my key strengths.
 RFI/RFP – I have responding to many RFI/RFPs for example: Meridian, Transpower and
IRD.

Demos and Presales Consultancy – Performed numerous demos and
presentations to current and potential customers such as: the NZ Utilities, the
Wellington banks and the NZ public sector.

Principal Consultant. I was the Principal “Professional Services Consultant” for BMC Software
(NZ Limited) in Wellington. BMC is an international company based in Houston with over
7,000 employees specialising in selling systems management and database management
software.
Responsibilities:

Solution Designs and Consultancy
As principal consultant, I wrote most of the solution design documents for the work in
the Wellington office.




Technical Consultancy and Implementation
I was also responsible for other aspects of technical consultancy including: (a)
development of interfaces; (b) product configuration (b) documentation and (c)
training.
Project Management
I acted as project manager for a variety of professional services engagements in Asia
Pacific – for example I was the Project Manager at Citibank, Singapore. I wrote the
initial Statements of Work, produced project plans (using MS-Project) and held
regular meetings with customers.
Team Leader / Engagement Manager
I acted as the interim Professional Services manager for the Wellington Office. Duties
included engagement management, and scheduling of staff.
Trainer
I performed about 6 training courses per year for our customers. This included both
User and Administrative courses for a number of different product areas.

I lead the NBNZ through a deployment of BMC products (PATROL and PEM) from
initial demonstration through to pilot and production rollout. I performed the initial
solution design in 2002 and preformed a 2 phased implementation in 2004. The team

Software Consultant. Worked as a pre-sales consultant in the areas of distributed systems
management and application management for BMC’s “PATROL” suite of products.
Responsibilities:

I provided technical pre-sales consultancy to the BMC account managers for customer
briefings, seminars and other events.



Technical Account Management
I acted as the technical account manager for both DHL and the UK Post Office (the
two largest Patrol customers in the UK). I managed the deployment of PATROL for
2000 NT Servers, 500 UNIX Servers and 30 SAP/R3 Instances.
Product-Trial Management
I managed pre-sales projects such as on-site Proof of Concepts (POCs), and short
prototypes, and product trials.
Solution Design / Architecture
Designed the initial architecture for solutions for distributed systems management.
For example, I helped the UK Post Office design their event management system for
SAP/R3, NT and UNIX, which involved the integration of HP OpenView ITO, Remedy
and PATROL.
