Distance Learning Calculus Program
Georgia Tech
Rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors currently enrolled in AP Calculus and who meet qualifying
criteria will be able to apply for possible admission to Georgia Tech to take Calculus II and Calculus
III for their sophomore, junior, or senior year.
Currently, the host sites are Brookwood, Peachtree Ridge, Mill Creek, and North Gwinnett High
Schools. All students will need to provide their own transportation to one of these schools, 5 days a
week for a class time of 8:00-9:00 AM.
Admission is a competitive process. The MINIMUM requirements to qualify:
 3.5 or higher overall GPA (based on GT’s recalculated scale)
 3.5 or higher GPA in all Math courses (based on GT’s recalculated scale)
 4 or a 5 on the AP Calculus AB exam*
 3, 4, or 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam*
 600 or better on the SAT math section
 The competitive ACT score range is 30-33.*
 The competitive SAT combined score range is 2000-2250. *
*Be sure to add Georgia Tech as a test recipient
Please note: Students who are B-1, B-2, and F-2 visa holders are not eligible for this program per
Board of Regents policy.







Deadline for applying for fall semester is June 15, 2014 (it is OK if AP results are not in yet).
All applications will be completed online at www.apply.gatech.edu.

SAT/ACT and AP exam scores due to Georgia Tech by July 15, 2014
Applicants will be notified of acceptance in late July.
The ACCEL* program (financial aid), administered by the Georgia Student Finance Commission,
will cover a portion of the cost of tuition. Students will be responsible for paying for the mandatory
fees and textbook costs. Each semester students who are enrolled in the program will have an account
balance that must be paid before classes begin. You must apply for ACCEL each semester.
The class is composed of regularly enrolled Georgia Tech students, as well as high school students
from throughout the metro-Atlanta area. Classes are conducted on-site for the enrolled Georgia Tech
students and via a video-conferencing system for high school students. There are usually 200
students in Tech’s class and there will be a cap of 450 additional distance HS students for 2014-2015.
Students will receive 4 credit hours of college credit each semester and 1.0 HS credit per semester.
The Georgia Tech calendar is followed for classes and grades given are A, B, C, D, F.
GCPS will convert grades to numerical grades.

name is correct on application)
July 15, 2014 Deadline for submitting AP/SAT/ACT scores

August 1, 2014: Intent to Enroll Form deadline
August 1, 2014: Fall ACCEL application deadline for students
August 8, 2014: Deadline for counselors to approve Fall ACCEL Applications
August 18, 2014: Classes begin
November 21, 2014: Spring ACCEL application deadline for students
