Participants in WRNN internships are community members or college juniors and seniors who receive college credit for their time spent at the station. WRNN accepts interns in all departments—News, HR, Finance, Traffic, Operations, Graphics, Production, Broadcast Engineering—throughout the year, accommodating both local college students primarily during the spring and fall semesters and area residents attending out-of-state colleges during winter and summer breaks. The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides New York City youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with summer employment and educational opportunities. Participants work in a variety of entry-level jobs at government agencies, hospitals, summer camps, nonprofits, small businesses, law firms, museums, sports enterprises, and retail organizations. All participants were provided with information on the internship program. 13 Studio Tour 1/5/10 Boy Scout Tour - Chief Engineer & Jr. Generalist provided information to scouts and conducted a tour of the television studio. 14 Training Program A number of WRNN staff expressed interest in upper-level positions; they were cross trained in those positions.
