Southeast University
Southeast University (SEU), founded in 1902, is a national key institute of higher learning
administered directly under the Ministry of Education of China (MOE). It is now a comprehensive
university with a strong engineering background, whose full-time students are over 27,000, among
whom 10,000 are postgraduates. SEU offers 64 Bachelor’s programs, 208 Master’s programs and 111
Ph.D. programs in science, engineering, medicine, art, economics，management，etc. With a faculty of
1300 full and associate professors, 11 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the
Academy of Engineering, SEU boasts 20 post-doctoral stations, 11 state-level key disciplines, 3
national key laboratories, 2 national research centers of engineering technology, 6 key laboratories and
4 research centers of engineering of MOE.
SEU has begun to enroll overseas students since 1956. Students from over 60 countries and regions
have to date completed their studies at SEU. SEU has established close cooperation and exchanges

Note: The specialties marked with a ※ can be conducted in English with a prerequisite of a minimum
number of 10 students for Master’s degree and 5 for PhD degree studies.
Estimated Costs of Self-financed International Students Studying at SEU:
1. Application & Registration Fee: RMB 400
2. Tuition for One Academic Year (in RMB)：
For students pursuing bachelor’s degree, tuition for one academic year is 16000-20000 (16000 for
arts majors, 19000 for engineering majors and 20000 for medical majors).
For students pursuing master’s degree, tuition for one academic year is 18000-30000 (18000 for arts
majors, 23000 for engineering majors and 30000 for medical majors).
For students pursuing doctor’s degree, tuition for one academic year is 28000-50000 (28000 for arts
majors, 33000 for engineering majors and 50000 for medical majors).
For students of Chinese courses, tuition for one academic year is 16000;
For general scholars, tuition for one academic year is 16000;
For senior scholars, tuition for one academic year is 20000.
3. Teaching Materials: 200-1000/year
4. Tuition for Short-term Students (in RMB):
RMB1600 for 2 weeks; RMB 650 more per person for per additional week, excluding cost of
teaching materials and other documents.
5. Expenses of Accommodation：
International students may live in the International Students’ Residence Buildings, which spread in all
three campuses. The price varies from RMB 2400 to 4500 for a double room each semester,
depending on the location and facilities.

About SEU
Among more than 1,800 higher-learning institutes in China, SEU is one of the oldest and top 20 for its
more than a century’s academic excellence and whole-person education. 34 of its schools and
departments offer more than 60 Bachelor’s, 200 Master’s and 100 Ph. D programs. There are about
3000 full-time faculty and a current enrollment of 17,000 undergraduate students, 10,000 postgraduate
students and more than 500 international students from 63 countries on 3 of its main campuses
covering a total area of more than 400 hectares.
About Location
SEU is located in Nanjing, China at the lower reaches of the Yangtze River (the third longest river in
the world). Nanjing, an ancient capital city for 10 dynasties in history, is now the provincial capital of
Jiangsu, one of the most developed provinces across China where more than 1/3 of the world’s top 500
multinational corporations have set up about 700 subsidiaries. The well-developed highway, railway
and airway system makes the transportation to other parts of China and the world very convenient.
Features of the Program
The English-taught Program in International Business is structured as a two-year master’s program
consisting of courses, seminars and tour studies for international students. The objective of the program
is to provide the student with competence and tools to analyze, plan, and manage global business while
facing different markets, business practices and political/legal, economical and cultural environments.
Part of the courses and seminars are designed to expose the student to typical issues involved in dong
business in China or with Chinese firms; the tour studies provide chance for the student to see the
developed and underdeveloped regions of China for his or her on-the-site investigation or study on
such issue as regional development disparity.
The faculty enjoys a close partnership with the local business and governments and comprises
experienced overseas visiting professors.

The applicants should meet either of the following qualifications

Language Requirements
The applicants should meet one of the following language equivalents
● Graduates from universities of English-speaking countries
● Graduates from universities where English is an official language
● TOEFL: 170 (Computer-based) or 500 (Paper-based)
