MARTA BEDKOWSKA BIO
Described by New York Times as "artful", cellist Marta Bedkowska is a doctoral candidate at The City
University of New York The Graduate Center. Marta has studied under Marcy Rosen, Rocco Filippini and
Natalia Gutman. Marta studied contemporary music performance practice with Ursula Oppens. She
participated in master-classes led by Joel Krosnick, Steven Doane, Nathaniel Rosen, David Soyer, Andre
Emelianoff, as well as members of Orion and Manhattan string quartets. Marta is an active chamber
music performer who has appeared in most major concerts halls in New York City, as well as in Italy,
France, United Kingdom, Holland, Germany and Poland, playing with Manhattan Chamber Orchestra,
Slavic Arts Ensemble, The United Europe Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra dell' Accademia del Teatro della
Scala and Orchestra Stabile Gaetano Donizetti. Marta holds a Professional Studies Diploma from Mannes
College of Music and post-master degrees from Accademia Walter Stauffer in Cremona, Accademia
Internazionale della Musica in Milan and Scuola di Musica di Fiesole in Florence. She completed her
Master of Arts degree with distinctions at Fryderyk Chopin Music University in Warsaw. Marta Bedkowska
is an adjunct lecturer at Queens College Arron Copland School of Music and a member of faculty at The
Waldorf-Steiner School in New York.
