AP Psychology Final Project: Top 10 List
For your final project (50% of your final exam grade) you and a partner will be creating a Top 10
list. Your list will be made up of the top 10 most essential or beneficial psychology terms/concepts
you’ve learned over the course of the year. Knowing these 10 terms/concepts will:
- give you a “one up” in life
- benefit you the most after high school (or for senior year if you are a junior)
Process
Step 1: Pick your terms
Use your textbook, notes, and AP review guide for ideas. When choosing concepts, think about why
you need to know about that concept in order to be more successful in surviving your
college/young adult years. Think about the consequences of not knowing that term…if the mishaps
of not being educated about that term are intense, then it may belong on your Top 10 list!
Step 2: Create a Power Point/Prezi Presentation
You and your partner will create a Power Point Presentation/Prezi (1 term per slide) for you Top 10
list. Each slide should:
- contain the name of the term/concept
- be colorful, creative, and contain mostly pictures
- have key words that refer to your rationale of the term’s importance in your later life
The slides should not:
- contain sentences
- contain the definition of the term (this will be memorized and in your presentation)
Step 3: Presentation
You and your partner will take turns presenting each slide. During the presentation you need to:
- explain/define the term from memory
- explain why knowing this term/concept will benefit you later in life
Your grade will be based off of how well you explain the concept/term and the rationale you give
about why each particular term has ended up on your Top 10 list.
The rationale must be:
- thoughtful
- creative
- applicable to important areas of decisions, relations, day-to-day success, etc.
The largest percentage of your grade is in your presentation. Presentations will occur on May 17th for
Seniors and final exam day for Juniors.
