UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY OF HANOI
University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) is an advanced-model international public university established under the Bilateral Agreement between Vietnam and the French
Governments signed on November 12, 2009 and the Decision No. 2067/QD-TTg dated November
09, 2009 of the Prime Minister.
USTH’s organization and operation follows a brand-new system with the French and
Vietnamese administration and teaching staffs. The official language used at USTH is English.
The teaching at USTH is in compliance with the LMD process (Bachelor - Master - PhD) with the Bachelor of 3 years duration. The teaching program is strongly associated with many practical exercises and internships in Vietnam and abroad. The pedagogic teams of USTH are
100% composed of Vietnamese and international Professors and Doctors with international teaching experience. Upon graduation, students will be granted an international degree coaccredited by France and Vietnam and recognized all over the world.
USTH is implementing six training fields as follows:


Biotechnology- Pharmacology
Materials Science – Nanotechnology
 Water – Environment – Oceanography


Information and Communication Technology
 Renewable Energy
Space and applications
In 2013, USTH calls for applications in Vietnam and abroad for the program of Bachelor of
Science and Technology with the target of 300 students.
Eligibility:
Vietnamese and international students graduated from high school before or will graduate in 2013, with good academic results in scientific subjects

and ability to use English for learning are eligible. Detailed admission information is available at http://usth.edu.vn/admission
Admission procedures:
Admission procedures of USTH consists of 3 waves and 2 steps: preliminary selection and interview.

Preliminary selection: screening on dossiers (details at Application dossier) o 1st wave : Application: from December 1, 2012 to January 15, 2013. Interviews will be held in February 2013. o 2nd wave: Application: from January 16, 2013 to March 31, 2013. Interviews will be held in April 2013. o 3rd wave: Application: from April 1, 2013 to August 31, 2013. Interviews will be held in September 2013.
Interview:
Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in English by a jury. Invitations to interview shall be sent by email . Interview results shall be informed to each candidate within 15 days by email and post.
Candidates selected in the 1 st
and 2 nd
waves shall receive a letter informing interview result. USTH shall admit them upon receiving their full academic record in high school and their results of high school examination. It is mandatory to submit to USTH the result of university entrance examination should they take part in it.
After admission, USTH will arrange students into the suitable English classes based on their English level. At the end of the course, those who aren’t qualified in English will be requested to extend their English course at USTH until all requirements are satisfied.
Enrollment criteria:
Applicants who will graduate from high school in 2013 applying in the 1 st
wave: (1.) The academic results of Grade 10 and Grade 11 must reach at least Good rank (scientific subjects); (2.) English fluency.
Applicants who will graduate from high school in 2013 applying in the 2 nd
wave: (1.) The academic results of Grade 10, Grade 11 and the 1st semester of Grade 12 must reach at least Good rank (scientific subjects); (2.) High school graduation examination score must reach at least Good rank (scientific subjects); (3) English fluency.
Applicants who graduated from high school before 2013 and/or those applying in the 3 nd wave: (1.) The academic results of 3 years of high school must reach at least Good rank
(scientific subjects); (2.) Must take the the national university entrance examination in blocks A, A1, B and D with results equal to or higher than the benchmarks of MOET and
USTH of the exam year (3) English fluency.
Application dossier:
Application dossier shall include:
Application form for Bachelor course intake 2013 (download from http://usth.edu.vn/admission ) filled in and signed with portrait photo attached;
Certified copy of High school record. Should the grading system be different than the 0-10 scale applied in Vietnam, a document explaining the applied grading system should be included;
Certificate of high school examination result or certified copy of high school diploma
(required for applicants who graduated from high school before 2013 and/or those applying in the 3 nd
wave);
Certificate of the national entrance examination result or letter of acceptance (required for applicants who graduated from high school before 2013 and/or those applying in the 3 nd wave);
Certificate of foreign languages (English, French), letter of recommendation (if any).
Admission fees and Tuition fees:

Interview fee: 50.000 VND/candidate, not refundable in all case.
Tuition fees: 21.000.000 VND (equivalent to USD 1,000)/year, collectible every semester.
Tuition fees for intensive English course: free.
Tuition fees for extended English course: 1.260.000 VND (equiv. to USD 60)/semester.
