Dear Youth Leaders,
I hope you are all ok…Next week is jam packed with events…of particular interest are the European Youth
Week events to be held aroung Europe, including our own Valletta…Good luck to all those participating in
these events!!
During next week we shall be collecting applications for funds that fall under the KDZ-APS Bank funding
opportunity for youth organizations. Various organizations have benefited from this funding opportunity
during the past year with different successful projects involving many young people. For more information
refer to our website.

KDZ-APS BANK FUND SUPPORTING YOUTH ORGANISATIONS
KDZ, in collaboration with APS Bank, will be supporting initiatives which young people active in
organizations take by offering monetary funds for projects that will be approved by the selection committee.
More information about these grants can be accessed by reading the application letter.
Please find the letter that is inviting you all to present projects and the application form which you will need to
present completed by the 7th November 2008 on our website.

The aims for this event revolve around the involvement of young people in shaping policy which concerns
them and their participation in intercultural events.
Every day of the week has a different theme and will make it possible for young people to participate in
activities related with this theme.
A bus will be going round different towns. Young people and Youth groups are being urged to make contact
with the bus as it passes and stops in their town sharing information relevant to young people. Attached

Participating in the exhibitions at the Old Theatre site will be a stand featuring the involvement of Maltese
young people in various World Youth Days. Young people will be able to share their experiences while some
activities are being prepared on this stand. Do stop by to have a look  Taize meeting @ EYW
On Sunday 9th November, an ecumenical prayer meeting is being set up Taize style at St. Andrew’s Scots
Church (Valletta – South Street corner with Old Bakery Street). Prayer starts at 7pm and there will be a
moment of fellowship afterwards. Young people from different groups who have lived the Taize experience
are working on setting up this event. Everybody is invited to attend and be part of the experience.

The European Commission has launched a new web portal called "Study in Europe" to promote the
attractiveness of European Higher Education to students from other parts of the world. The portal, at
www.study-in-europe.org, as part of a wide-ranging campaign to increase the number of students from
outside Europe who study in the EU. "Study in Europe" provides clear and up-to-date information about the
range of courses on offer in European higher education institutions, admission procedures, costs,
scholarships and the higher education environment in Europe.
