The Career Center Career Services Paraprofessionals Application for 2012 – 2013 Thank you for your interest in working for The Career Center (TCC) as a member of the Career Services Paraprofessionals team! Student paraprofessionals play a critical role in representing TCC across campus by maintaining positive relationships with campus units and student organizations, by providing the campus community with direct, justin-time services and by supporting the student population to achieve their professional goals. Approximately 25 students make up this group and are charged with the following responsibilities: Work 6-10 hours per week on average, consisting of: o 3-4 hours of scheduled resume reviews each week o Facilitation of 4 professional development workshops each month Active participation in project work that supports TCC initiatives, as needed Actively connect with The Career Center via social media sources such as Facebook and Twitter Attendance at regularly scheduled meetings to discuss the status of projects and goal completion Attendance at monthly staff meetings for the purpose of: reviewing statistics and general announcements, receiving training and development, providing feedback, sharing best practices and project updates and identifying opportunities for collaboration Attendance to several full-day training sessions upon hire – will take place in Spring 2012 before departure for summer break and in Fall 2012 before classes commence (see dates below) Career Services Paraprofessionals are compensated with hourly wage that is determined on an annual basis and is competitive with other student peer positions on campus. Exact wages for the 2012-2013 school year are yet to be determined. Interested in Applying? 1. You must meet the following requirements of The Career Center: Be an undergraduate student at UIUC during the 2012– 2013 academic year Be available to work at least two full semesters, not including the summer term Be available to attend two mandatory, paid training sessions upon hire. The dates of these sessions are Saturday, April 14th, 2012 (spring semester) and Saturday, August 25, 2012 (fall semester). You must also meet the following requirements of the University: Domestic students: must be enrolled for at least 6 credit hours during Fall and Spring semesters during the 2011 – 2012 academic year International students: must be enrolled for at least 12 credit hours during Fall and Spring semesters during the 2011 – 2012 academic year 2.
