Responsibilities
1. General
1) Monitoring and Taking necessary steps on BSC()Base Switching Center) alarms (BSC
Connectivity, Signaling, GBL, Clock, AP fault, RP fault etc), Monitoring BTS alarms
(site down, path down, TS Sync Fault, PCM Alarm, Ne-disconnect, alter link down.
2) Creation of database of newly coming BTS in OMCR end.
3) BTS and BSC software up-gradation.
4) Site cascading.
5) Creating cell and configuring cell parameters.
6) Increasing configuration of cell based on RF team Inputs.
7) Creating BCCH.
8) Congestion Analysis, Call Drop Analysis.
9) Network Performance Analysis based on RF inputs.
10) Analysis the Critical BSS problem and reasons for Site, BSC, etc down.
11) Monthly, weekly and hourly cell wise, BSC wise statistics.
12) Monitoring and take necessary action, Integration, testing and maintenance of sites in
BSC & MSC.
13) Providing support to BTS Engineers (Including Configuring and
Maintenance of various BTS alarms from OMCR End).
2. Report Management:1) Extraction and analysis of M2000 reports and LMT reports.
2) Generation of Planned outage report.
3) Generating and daily reporting of various critical alarms (Low Battery, Cell outage,
DC generator alarms etc... ).
4) Generating and analyzing of cell outage report to ensure 99.9% network availability.
5) Generate and analyze network configuration reports for the traffic, RF, capacity,
outage, etc using M2000 & LMT.
3. Fault Management:1) To remove all active BSS alarms from OMCR end.
2) Operation and maintenances of Huawei BTS (Base transceiver station) & BSC from
OMCR End.
3) Daily health check up BSS Network elements and rectification or escalation as per
the scenario.
4) Monitoring and analysis of alarms in the network elements and providing support
to Field Engineers for the rectification of the concerned issues.
5) Troubleshooting of BTS site alarm from BSC & BTS end.
6) Constant tracking of the newly On-Air BTS sites for the desired quality and making
the sites ‘Ready-For Service’.
4. BSS Support to O&M Engineers & Transmission Engineers
1) Creation of ATER, A & ABIS interface (BSS Integration).
2) Commissioning of BSC (Huawei).
3) Re-homing of existing BSC from one MSC to other MSC or MSS (MGW) Media
gateway.
4) Creation of Huawei BSC HW units at OMCR end (BCSU, MCMU etc).
5) Software up gradation on BTS.
6) Extraction of Backups and Dumps from BSC’s on a periodic basis.
7) GPRS & EDGE activation (on cell level).
8) GB link creation.
9) TRX(Transceiver) edition & BTS site updating from half E1 to full E1 and Vice Versa.
10) Site Blocking, removal of a site Form BSC.
11) Activating and Deactivating Of Sites from BSC.
12) Moving of one site from one BSC to another.
13) Configuring or changing new BTS Alarms to the Concerned Ports Using MML
Command in LMT.
