ATMIC VISION, a virtuoso ensemble based in Bangalore, India, performs instrumental
renditions of traditional South Indian devotional songs infused with inspirational
improvisation. This extraordinary blending of East and West creates music of profound
peace, purity and exciting rhythmic vitality. The program will include many favorites from
the ensemble’s recent CD EXPANDING HORIZONS.
Annada (Butto) Prasanna Pattannaik is one of India’s foremost classical flutists.
Performing throughout India, Europe and Asia, he is the most sought after flutist in the recording
industry in Southern India. The great Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia was his teacher.
Paul Erhard is perhaps the world’s only Western double bass violin soloist performing
music from India. In 2004, he has performed Indian music on 14 concerts in the USA and Asia. Dr.
Erhard is the professor of double bass at the University of Colorado College of Music in Boulder.
Muthu Kumar Varadarajan, one of India’s rising tabla stars, has performed with many of
India’s leading musicians in India and the USA. In Bangalore, he recently opened his own school for
Indian drumming. He is a long time disciple of tabla legend Ustad Zakir Hussain.
