Emirates’ First Class
With an air of luxury and exclusivity, Emirates’ First Class travel sets passengers in a class of
their own. From the plush airport lounges with full business facilities to the ultra swift checkin and boarding, First Class passengers are pampered from the moment their journey begins.
Sumptuous seven-course meals are individually served on bone china and enhanced by
Emirates’ professionally selected wines, spirits and beverages.
A personal video library, in addition to the airline’s mainstream entertainment system,
ensures that if sleep is elusive passengers will never be short of something to do.
Since 2003, First Class suites, each costing US$125,000, have been installed on Emirates’
Airbus A340-500s and new Boeing 777 fleet, making them as comfortable as the most
luxurious executive aircraft. The airline has also invested US$1.8 billion in reinventing longhaul travel with a series of innovations to tempt every traveller.
One of the biggest initiatives in the airline’s history is the installation of the world’s first
private First Class suites, featuring privacy screens for maximum exclusivity. The suites have
massage-enabled leather seats which convert to flat beds. Comfort covers, cosy fabric
sleeping suits and slippers, down pillows and cotton-lined blankets all support a good night’s
sleep. Other touches of luxury include a dining table, built-in vanity table with mirror and an
overnight amenity kit.
Multi-course meals created by top international chefs can be ordered from an extensive menu
at any time and served in the comfort of the suite. Stylish sundries include hot toast and
cappuccino coffee. Instead of breakfast, lunch and dinner served from a trolley at fixed times,
customers are now invited to order at will from a range of appetisers, hors d’oeuvres, entrées,
desserts, fresh fruits and cheeses.
The tempting range might include anchovy bell peppers and fresh Parmesan, cream of carrot
and coriander soup; lobster and arugula salad on noodles with Thai chilli, scallop ragout and
tomato salsa and oven-roasted lamb with thyme.
Dessert choices may include fruit tart, crème brûlée and chocolate mousse triple symphony,
as well as speciality teas and cafetière coffee.
Cabin hosts also offer snacks and drinks throughout the flight, ranging from sandwiches to
old favourites like steak and kidney pie, as well as popular newcomers like hot wraps.
Airbus 380s
First Class passengers can relax in one of 14 private suites, with seats that convert to fully flat
beds. Emirates is also the first airline to introduce two fully-equipped bathrooms in its First
Class cabins, including shower facilities.
Business Class passengers can relax in seats that convert to fully flat beds up to 79 inches
(two metres) long, whilst those travelling in Economy Class can stretch out in seats with a
pitch of up to 33 inches.

Passengers in all classes can enjoy Emirates’ award-winning ICE (information,
communication, entertainment) Digital Widescreen inflight entertainment system, which
features over 1,100 channels of on-demand entertainment.
Each cabin also features a unique, advanced mood lighting system, complete with a starlit
sky. This adjusts throughout a flight to reflect the time at the destination, and to help combat
effects of jet lag.
First Class (Upper Deck)

The suites are equipped with an electrically operated door, mini bar, reading lights, work
desk - with built-in illuminated vanity mirror, personal electrically controlled mini-bar
and room service feature.
Other features include a fold-out mechanical table, a flower vase, a literature pocket, a
credenza sideboard, wardrobe, forward and aft stationary panels and screens.
Adjoining centre suites in the middle of the First Class cabin have an electrically-operated
privacy divider that can be raised and lowered.
The suite is 82 inches (2.08 metres) long, with a seat that reclines from upright position to
sleep position with a total length of 78.87 inches. Seat cushions are 21.6 inches wide.
The seat/bed is equipped with an electrically-operated leg rest, backrest, headrest,
armrest, seat frame, leg rest extension and seat pan extension which enable the seat to
convert to any preset position (upright, dining, or bed) or to any intermediate position
between upright and flat-bed.
Multi-mode massage system with adjustable speed and intensity.
Lumbar support adjustment – inflatable and de-flatable.
Touch screen Wireless Integrated Passenger Seat Controller to control Emirates’ IFE (Inflight Entertainment) and seat functions.
A 23-inch wide LCD screen, linked to Emirates’ award-winning ICE inflight
entertainment system (see below).
A PC power outlet, dual USB port and RJU headphone jack.
ONBOARD SHOWER SPAS






Two Shower Spas are located in the First Class cabin for the exclsuive use of First Class
passengers.
Each Shower Spa consists of a shower cubicle with water temperature/time control,
vanity unit and wash basin, clothes changing area and toilet.
A hairdryer is also provided.
Full length mirror installed.
There is a 15.4-inch LCD monitor in each of the shower that displays the live Airshow
and tail camera output.
Other features include heated flooring, leather seating, exotic flowers to create a relaxed
ambience

Cosmetics include perfumes by Bvlgari and Timeless Spa shampoo, conditioner, body
moisturizer shower gel and exfoliate.

Entertainment & Communications
On aircraft fitted with Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment system, ice
(information communications entertainment), customers can enjoy more than 600 channels of
entertainment- more content than any other inflight entertainment system in the air.
Enhancements on ice now include 50 new movie releases, 25 movie classics, 25 children’s
films and large number of Arabic, Hindi and other world cinema films available.
Choices also include video and audio on-demand, over 40 interactive games, satellite
telephone, sms and email, live BBC news headlines, an airshow moving map and external
cameras for a bird’s eye view of the journey en route. The endless list is available on all
aircraft equipped with Emirates ice entertainment system- currently about half of the fleet.
The popular ice system is now available on over 50 percent of Emirates’ passenger fleet, and
the airline is continuing a retrofit programme to equip the remainder of its fleet with this
award winning inflight entertainment system.

First and Business Class passengers have the exclusive use of a Lounge situated at the rear of
the Business Class cabin on the upper deck. In addition to a fully stocked bar containing

there are two sofas, and a 42 inch LCD screen showing the aircraft’s position and views from
its external cameras. Mood lighting creates a calming ambience.

FIRST CLASS LOUNGES
Emirates has invested over Dhs 230 million (US$63m) in expanding its lounge network
worldwide. The airline has opened two Emirates Lounges in quick succession since April
last year, one in Beijing and the newest being Delhi.
Amongst international airlines, Emirates is one of few that truly invest in developing its own
exclusive lounge facilities for customers at airports outside of its home base.
Emirates has launched its second airport lounge in India at the Indira Gandhi International
Airport in Delhi, bringing the total number of lounges the airline has established across its
network, for the exclusive use of its customers, to 25.
The Dubai-based airline has also unveiled plans to introduce three more Emirates Lounges to
cater for its First and Business Class passengers and frequent flyers over the next 12 months,
to be located at San Francisco, Colombo and Istanbul airports.
Emirates began developing dedicated lounges outside of its Dubai hub in 2004. Today, the
airline’s 25 lounges can serve over 5,600 Emirates passengers at any one time, giving its
premium customers the ability to wait for their flights in a comfortable and luxurious
environment.
All Emirates Lounges feature a business centre with individual work stations and
complimentary broadband and wireless LAN access. Emirates Airport Services staff manage
the lounge at all times, while on-site chefs ensure passengers have a wide selection of food
and beverages round-the-clock featuring both hot and cold dishes. The dining area also offers
a full bar service, including champagne.

Signature touches consistent throughout all Emirates Lounges worldwide include: Italian
marble finishes, high quality leather for lounges sourced from Scotland, gold-plated Rolex
wall clocks from Geneva, designer bathrooms and showers. Passengers can also enjoy the
latest news and lifestyle programmes from a selection of global channels on plasma-screen
TVs, and in Dubai, unwind on massage chairs.
