JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: DEPARTMENT: Product Manager Cardiovascular, Taiwan MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB To work with the Marketing Manager to identify markets and develop product marketing strategies to drive the market share for Cardiovascular products, includes product launches. To provide technical and educational support for the sales team and be the expert reference for a specified product ranges. Initiate and conduct product training when and where necessary for the sales team. Enable the sales team to achieve the highest level of technical know-how in the local industry and enable them to be the best in class as therapy and product consultants. To work closely with the sales team and implement marketing to achieve annual sales target. Liaise with Regulatory team in regards to new products and opportunities. Manage product stock levels in warehouse and on consignment. Develop plans to minimize obsolescence. To ensure that the Company’s agreed quality standards are maintained with regard to its products, procedures, policies, operations and customer contact. MAIN JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES Work with the Sales & Marketing Manager to develop and implement plans which allow sales targets to be achieved or over achieved including: o Conduct marketing activities for the assigned products such as market research and analysis of competition, product positioning, product launch and promotion, distribution, advise on list pricing strategy base on market & competitor practice. o Develop and implement launch plans for new products that include meeting with regulatory and reimbursement requirements. o Develop and implement an educational training plan to meet customer and staff needs. o Conduct product and clinical trainings and ensure the sales team members are educated to the level appropriate to their responsibilities with respect to product and applications knowledge for Cardiovascular products. Work with customer service, inventory control, and regional and global Medtronic resources, provide the sales team with support for their activities: o Managing stock levels including forecasting and inventory for all Cardiovascular products including short dated and slow moving stock. o Manage obsolete inventory. o Technical training and application support including product quality complaints and issues. o Ensure a thorough understanding of, and adherence to, any government or corporate compliance issues. Page 1/ 3 JOB DESCRIPTION Act as the bridge between local sales team and Regional/ Greater China marketing team to ensure a thorough understanding of SBU initiatives and regional resources that can be leveraged. Responsible to develop local product strategy, tactical and implementation plan (with input from Sales), as well as organizing, executing and monitoring of marketing plans to achieve both short and long-term financial objectives and business growth. Develop and maintain productive working relationships with sales team and within Medtronic TW to ensure maximum sales support, high level of customer service and contributions to the development of a strong team effort. Meet the Sales Manager and the sales team regularly to report critical activities, plans and objectives, and share competitive analysis and information. Identify, establish and maintain productive working relationships with customers, key accounts and their key decision makers. To provide technical/ clinical leadership and serves as technical/ clinical adviser on all matters concerned with designated products (to both sales and external customers). Work closely with sales team and marketing communication team to develop customer engagement programs for KOL and patient awareness programs, which are in line with local and global strategic directions, and leveraging the programs to support market expansion or market penetration. Act as the project leader of key customer engagement programs and events. Work within and actively promote Medtronic’s core mission, corporate strategies, policies, procedures and Code of Conduct. Page 2/ 3 JOB DESCRIPTION JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Knowledge / Education Bachelor degree in Science, Marketing or Business Administration Master degree in Business and Administration or Marketing preferred Job Experience At least 3+ years experience in marketing area with 1+ years product marketing management Or, min. of 2 years in product marketing role with Medtronic Previous product/therapy launch experience preferred PREFERENCES Preferably in Medical, Biomedical Science, Marketing Exposure to or network in Cardiovascular industry Solid sales experience and collaborations with local cardiologists Skills / Competency In depth product and industry knowledge Thorough understanding of marketing mechanism and able to develop & implement Medtronic product marketing strategy independently Strong planning and analytical skills Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, including effective negotiation/influencing and presentation skill Sound project management skill Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts Willingness to learn, seeking continuous improvement in skills, knowledge and techniques Ability to quickly establish credibility with customers and field force Good organization and time management skills, including working independently and unsupervised, able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks Exceptional customer focus A good team player as well as an independent worker Technically minded with attention to detail Self motivated and positive Likes Change and Variety Passion and drive to win Proficiency in written and oral English and Chinese Mandarin at working level is required Good MS Office Application skills Support and act according to Medtronic core competencies of thinking, people, personal and results dimensions Page 3/ 3 Excellent attitude on learning and improvements.
