At the ITU-T NGN-GSI meeting (Geneva, 11-22 May 2009), Q12/13 has discussed relevant
contributions on expansion “Home Network” study taking consideration of emerging important
communication objects such as a vehicle and initial materials for study on vehicle related standard
in the sense of how NGN support this important communication objects/entity. The meeting agreed
to develop an initial draft recommendation on this topic.
Q12/13 would like to inform you that we have produced the initial version of draft recommendation
Y.NGN-vehicle “Framework of networked vehicle in NGN”. This draft recommendation
describes framework of networked vehicle in the context of NGN. This document identifies the
relationship between NGN and networked vehicle taking consideration of necessity to support
vehicle oriented communication. This document also identifies key features of networked vehicle in
the view points of NGN and develops functional architecture models based on these features. This
draft recommendation identifies high level aspects of NGN requirements to support networked
vehicle.
We would be very happy to have the opportunity to receive valuable comments for further progress
from you. Q12/13 looks forward to close corporation with relevant groups on networked vehicle
issues.
