Agenda

There was no formal Agenda for this Meeting however the following were agreed or noted:
a.
JHCO Update: TH and N A-K briefed the GECC on their meeting with Aidan O’Leary [Deputy
Director UNRWA Operations, Gaza] which was also attended by Bryan Walden [UNRWA FPLO, West
Bank] as follows:
1. JHCO were downsizing their operations to 10 trucks per convoy twice a week for financial resource
reasons, however, where Donors agreed to pay the full costs to Gaza these donations would be
shipped in full. Where Donors would not pay beyond Jordan, JHCO would seek approval for
UNRWA to fund the difference through the GECC.
2. AO [DDUO,G] expressed UNRWA’s sincere gratitude for JHCO’s contributions to the Gaza effort
and confirmed approvals would be given within 24-48 hours; he also listed the following
requirements and priorities:

3. Packing Lists of other items being offered should also be forwarded to AO for prioritisation before
calling forward to Jordan and then Gaza. N A-K informed AO that they had some 30 trucks of new
clothes; 5-6 of these are sorted and a packing list would be provided in due course. Action: N A-K
4. TH ran through the ‘Donations in the Pipeline’ List and actions were agreed as below.

In hand between TH [UNRWA] and MI [WFP]. The 500 MT in Masiyah
DFZ is ready to be shipped; TH to request JHCO to move and confirm UNRWA funding. Action:

UNLC Jerusalem and inform GECC

Visits: GK [UNRC] informed Meeting that UN Country Team visit the NCSCM still delayed due to
travel requirements UNRC and Country Team activities. N A-K agreed to arrange an informal visit for the
GECC. Action: N A-K.
b.
ID asked if it would be possible to witness a convoy at Allenby. N A-K confirmed it
would mean an early start and would send details. Action: N A-K
c.
N A-K informed the GECC that JHCO would be organising “Quick Response” training; details to
come. Action: N A-K
3.
Date & Time of Next Meeting:
a.
The next Meeting will be at the Offices of WFP at the Landmark Hotel [former Radisson
SAS] at 09:00 on Wednesday 11th March 2009 as many will be attending the “Women’s Day”
activities there afterwards.
b.
There is a Country UN Pension presentation on Wednesday 18th March at UNU starting at
11:00; suggest GECC meets there again before hand.
