COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course includes instruction in vital signs and special
examination procedures. Emphasis is placed on interviewing skills, appropriate triage
and preparing patients for diagnostic procedures. Upon completion, students should be
able to assist with special procedures.

INSTRUCTIONAL GOALS

Cognitive - Comprehend foundational knowledge of clinical procedures.

Psychomotor - Apply concepts associated with foundational knowledge of
clinical procedures.

Affective – Demonstrate an appreciation for adhering to policies and procedures
associated with clinical lab activities.
INSTRUCTOR NOTES:

In the interest of student and patient safety, adequate supervision is required for
all activities performed in a simulated or clinical environment.

expected to utilize relevant technology for client care and documentation. This course
is based on current national credentialing bodies.
