“GANGS”
CROSSWORD PUZZLE
ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
Learners will attempt to complete the Crossword Puzzle keeping in mind the theme
“Gangs”, and are encouraged to work together as a class to complete the activity.
Instructions:
 The instructor will hand out the one page cross word puzzle (example attached)
and monitor the exchange between learners.
 Debrief this activity by discussing why it was done and how it relates or can be
applied to real life or the job.
KEY LEARNING POINTS
The activity enforces some of the common terminology and issues related to the Gangs.
VARIATIONS


An option is to create this puzzle in electronic format to display via computer and
LCD projector to the entire room.
A third option is to copy the crossword puzzle onto overhead projector film and
display to the class in this fashion.
RESOURCES NEEDED


Gang Crossword Puzzle and answer sheet (example attached).
Writing instrument for each learner.
