ECOSYSTEMS CROSSWORD ASSIGNMENT
Sustainable Ecosystems and the Ecology Unit use many new
terms that you might not be familiar with. To help you get
a head start on the important terminology that we will be
using for the rest of the unit you are going to complete
the following for homework.
Your task is to CREATE A CROSSWORD of important terminology
that we are going to use this unit.
To begin
1. Define each of the terms below. Definitions can be
found in your textbook.
2. Use your definitions to come up with creative hints
for your clues.
Example: Term = Abiotic
 Definition = a nonliving factor in the environment
 Hint = Sunlight and temperature are examples of this
type of factor.
3. Be sure you are creating a crossword and not a word
search! You may want to look at some examples of
different crosswords before beginning.
