Question 1-4 各个主题都在了：
主要介绍如何准备第一题，虽然是第一题，但确不是最简单的。理由：
（ａ）回答第一题比较紧张，因为刚进入口语，还没有进入状态，所以很容易因为紧张，就闷了。
（ｂ）第一题的问题几乎没有什么提示，这里所谓的提示，指答案的提示。不像第２题，Ａ ｏｒ Ｂ
是有提示的，回答Ａ，Ｂ，甚至Ａ＋Ｂ都可以。所以第一题还可能卡在理由上，例子上。
下面主要介绍第一题考试的范围，偶当时准备就是按照这个范围准备的，参考了不少口语书，几乎逃
不出我下面列的范围：
我相信大家已经研究过 Official Guide,里面其实对每一题的出题范围都有介绍：
第一题的出题范围分为四个方面：
(1) 地点类(place)ex: Describe your favorite place in the city and explain why you like this place.
(2006/1/6) (2006/7/15)这是 2006 年 1 月和 7 月的真题
(2)事情或活动类(event or activity)ex: Describe the most important decision you have made in your
life. (2005/12/2)(3)人物类(person)ex: Describe your favorite teacher and explain how this teacher
influenced you.
(4)物体类(objects)ex: Describe the best/worst invention in the 20th century and explain how it
affects your life.
以上 4 个范围，就是 ETS 考察第一题的内容。
接下来，就一个个主题来看怎么准备：（我在下面举的例子大部分以上海为例，大家可以根据自己的
情况改写就可以）

主题 I: 地点类
先看 4 个真题和解题步骤:
1. Describe your favorite place in the city and explain why you like this place. (2006/1/6) (2006/7/15)
（1）首先描述一下这个地方：

（2）喜欢的理由：

Well, to me, I often go to the Century Park with my friends. Located in Shanghai, Pudong, near
where I live, largest park in Shanghai
（2）为什么喜欢这个地方？
Firstly, there are a lot of entertainment facilities for relaxation. I can have a good time with my
friends.
The second reason is that it’s a quiet and beautiful place. I can walk with my friends around the
park while sharing my happiness and sadness with them.
There are all kinds of shows like the flower show, the firework show, and sometimes there’s even
open-air concert! I quite enjoy these activities.
大家可以看到，在这 4 个题目中，我反复用到 the century park, 这就是前面序 II 讲的精华所在。按
照这样的思路，可以大大缩短准备的内容，通俗点说就是你准备的内容会变少，反复操练这点内容，
你会越来越熟悉。
另外值得一提的是, 前面讲的 4 个主题是可以相互联系的，地点类完全可以和人物类相结合，
可以自由搭配，如上面的第四题，换个问法: 你和朋友在一起最喜欢做什么事情？完全可以回答成，
在 century park 聊天，看表演等等。
地点类还需要准备的内容：
准备思路
1. Building
Describe the highest/emblematic/historic building in your town.
Describe a kind of traditional building in your country
The Oriental Pearl Tower,
It stands by the bank of the Huang Pu River and is opposite to the Bund which is famous for its
grand buildings of various architectural styles.
The tower is 468 meters high. It is the highest TV Tower in Asia and the third highest one in the
world.
The tower is the best place to get a bird’s view of Shanghai. When it is sunny, it is really relaxed
and pleased to have the distant views of the Yangtze River and the Chongming Island.
The tower also has many wonderful and exciting entertainment items for both the old and the young
like the three-dimensional movie, hot balloon.
It has already become the symbolic buildings and tourism resorts in Shanghai.
2. Place

Museum
Shanghai Museum, it is the biggest museum in Shanghai.
It is located in the centre of Shanghai in the People’s Square. The museum has 11 galleries and 3
exhibition halls, covering the most major categories of Chinese Art.
The museum tells the complete story of the history of China- painting, coin, sculpture, ancient jade
and so like. It would be a great place to those people who want to know China.
The price of ticket is relatively cheap. Most ordinary people can afford it. The student price is just 10
Yuan.
Restaurant
Restaurant in the Oriental Pearl Tower,
ORT is 468 meters high and it is the tallest TV tower in Asia and the third tallest one in the world.
The restaurant is on the second sphere of the tower. It would be a great time to have a bird view of
Shanghai while having dinner.
There are some wonderful and exciting entertainment items there like the three-dimensional
movies, hot balloon. We can relax ourselves after dinner.
Shop
I like the shop in the Oriental Pearl Tower.
OPT is one of the symbolic buildings in Shanghai. It is 468 meters high and is the tallest TV tower in
Asia and the third tallest one in the world. It would be a great time to shop in the tower while having
a bird view of Shanghai.
You can buy some souvenirs in the shop like the model of the Oriental Pearl Tower. It is meaningful
to bring some souvenirs of Shanghai to friends and family members. They can share the happiness
with you.
An ideal house
My ideal house is near the Century Park, which is the biggest Park in Shanghai.
Beautiful scenery of the park, various flowers, grasses, trees, fresh air, and the singing of different
kinds of birds

The oriental pearl tower group
The company that develops and manages the operation of the Oriental Pearl Tower, which is the
tallest TV tower in Asia and the third tallest one in the world.
The company conducted a good design of the building so that it is the best place to have a bird’s
view of Shanghai. When it is sunny, it is really relaxed and pleased to have the distant views of the

The company also manages the tower very well. It has lots of wonderful and exciting entertainment

(2).Describe your room and explain how you spend time there.
Room
My room is my favorite place. It is very big, about 50 square meters.
I have my book shelf, my computer, my own TV and even a running machine in my room.

My university gives me the deepest impression. It is located in the suburb area of Shanghai.
First of all, it has beautiful scenery. There are various flowers, trees and grasses planted in the
campus and the air there is very fresh. We can also hear the singings of different kinds of birds.
Secondly, It has good exercise facilities, like the football court, the basketball court, the swimming
pool and a big play ground. Usually, I’d like to go jogging around the playground in the morning and
swim in the afternoon to relax myself and keep fit.
3. City

with the family or friends.
Another reason why it is so popular is that it is helpful to people’s health. As is well known that tea is
a drink that can help people prevent cancer and other disease. Keep thin.
A cup of tea a day keeps a doctor away.
6. 你是怎样自我调节放松的？（2006/9/15）
Well, to me, I have several methods to relax myself. They are as follows:
Firstly, hang out with best friends, find a quiet place, like the central park near my community to

Well, to me, the favorite time of a year is the Chinese New Year Festival, which is a great day for

通常活动类的题目需要和人物类和地点类相结合：XX 人在 XX 地做 XX 事情，为什么重要，难忘，
有趣？
这样这个问题的回答就圆满了。照这样的思路，序 II 的思路完全可以用在这里。拿上 面第六题来说，
Century Park 又可以派上用场了，或者以前准备的地点类，都可以派上用场，休闲时间也完全可以
去某个城市，某个国家旅游，也可以去某个知名景点放松，大家随便结合，自己 总结。
主题 III: 人物类（Person）

最有效率的准备，就是挑选几个百搭的好性格，品质，谁都可以套，大家自己体会下。

这个主题又可以分为 3 类：

book.
The second reason is that it saves me a lot of time when I have something confused. Instead of going to the

Well, to me, I would prefer the magazine.
The reason is as follows:

The second reason is that it can be a kind of entertainment for me. Usually, I will bring one or two magazines

Well, to me, the most interesting book is encyclopedia.

The reasons why I think it is interesting are as follows:
First of all, it contains a wide ranger of knowledge covering almost every field. For example, if I want to know
about American history, I can turn to the history chapter for help. Or if I want to find some information about

The second reason is that it is a book that can save people lots of time. Whenever I have problems, I will turn

Well, to me, the most efficient transportation in my country is subway.
(2) 为什么?
The reasons are as follows:
First of all, it is a transportation that cannot be effected by the bad weather or other factors that may
influence the operation of the transportation.
The second reason that it is fast and convenient. For example, I live in shanghai, where has an advanced
system of subway, and I can reach almost every district of the city by subway.
4. 近 100 年最重要的 invention 之一？(2006/4/28)
Well, to me, one of the most important inventions in the recent century is computer technology.
The reasons are as follows:
First of all, it helps people to do things in a more efficient way. It releases people from repetitive computing
work by just running a computing program. In that way, people have more time to do other things.
The second reason is that it can provide entertainment for people. With the computer, people can watch
movie, play games, or even shopping.
It is really an amazing invention of the recent century.
5. A job or career you want to pursue? (2006/7/29)
Well, to me, I want to be a teacher in the future.
The reasons are as follows:
First of all, I think it’s a noble career that it carries the responsibility of educating the next generation, which
would be the pillar of the country.

回答技巧：
(1) 迅速选择，不要犹豫，这个题目回答没有对错，能自圆其说就好。
(2)一旦选择，回答得思路可以回到 Q1,句型，结构可以用一样的。
(3) 当缺少理由时，可以用正面，反面回答得方法，可以充实理由库
ex: Do you think the high school should teach music and art as other basic science?
态度：应该
理由 1：有助于培养学生的想象力
理由 2：（如果想出来正面理由）如果不上 music and art 的坏处：学生缺少想象力
这样一来，把一个理由分两个用。
(4) 建议用作文的题库来练习, 选上述 3 种问法的题目来练，既能复习作文，也能练习口语。把 185 里面的题
目挑出来反复练习就可以了。
(5) Q1 和 Q2 不是没有关系的，Q1 准备的内容很多时候能用在 Q2 的题目上，所以多多练习，这样可以缩小准
备的内容，争取把这些内容弄得滚瓜烂熟。

这道题通常是关于 university policies, rules or procedures; university plans; campus facilities or quality of life on
campus 的一些新的变化，对话中的一个人支持或者反对这个变化，并且给出理由，题目的要求就是复述其中
一人的观点并且列举出这个人的理由（注意：不能说自己的观点！）。问题类似于“State his opinion and explain the
reasons he gives for holding that opinion”。读 40-45 秒（75-100 words），听 60-80 秒，准备 30 秒，说 60 秒。
答题原则：
1、对话题型重要原则：重点听一个人的观点
2、基本上对话结构是 Q&A，总是针对 A 来设计题目。
3、概括记录，以最佳复原效果为准。
（1）可用符号甚至中文，但确保不会换用“关键词”。
（2）关键句阅读时可预见，内容预先记下，态度非正即反，不要靠当时具体去听，只标+,-号。
（3）Supporting points 可标上数码，至少可以心理安慰。
（4）细节列举可放过，特别不要在细节列举遇到生词时懊恼抓狂。
其实这个题目比较好回答，基本上 reading passage 就可以判断出很多内容，如到底是 notice, message, proposal,
迅速找到关键词，内容究竟讲什么。听得时候重点听态度和支持或者反对的理由。

读和听一段学术方面（life science, social science, physical science, and the humanities）的文章，the reading passage
一般是概括和抽象的学术语言，the lecture 给出具体的例子、反例或者应用。题目一般是要求“apply the more
general information you have learned in the reading to the examples discussed in the lecture”。读 40-45 秒（75-100
words），听 60-80 秒，准备 30 秒，说 60 秒。
此题型细分为两种题型：
1、二元正负类：阅读材料中的关键句之一有两个对称并列的概念性词语（切记：通常是动词！）
（1）在阅读材料中找到两个关键词，听力材料必然围绕这两个关键词展开。
（2）在听力中迅速判断两大关键词的正负性质。
（3）根据两大关键词的正负性展开相关内容。
关于这个类型，我考试的时候没有碰到，平常做题也没有注意，大家可以留意下。
2、描述举例类：阅读材料中的关键句之一对文章题目进行描述，如果不是定义句，此关键句经常在定义句附
近。
（1）阅读时记下描述性的关键句，如果临近定义句，同时记下定义句。
（2）听到并记下举例内容，特别是与关键句匹配的信息。
（3）根据具体例子反推验证关键句，如阅读时未确定，则在听力中迅速判断，从两句中选中一句。
（4）整合阅读与听力笔记，套用句型，准备答题。
这个题型，是我复习的关键，幸运的是考试的时候也是这个题型。
我简单地展开下如何作笔记：
reading passage: 主要记下抽象的词，和具体的定义；原理，和具体原理的内容等
listening passage: 主要记所举的 example, study, or research，注意这些和抽象的定义和原理的挂钩。
下面只介绍题型二的模版：

这道是 Problem and Solution(P&S)题。一般是关于 campus-relate discussion，两个人讨论 a problem and two
possible solutions. The problem 一般是关于 scheduling conflicts, unavoidable absences, unavailable resources,
student elections, financial difficulties, and so forth. 题目要求是“briefly describe the problem that was discussed in
the conversation and to state which of the two solutions you prefer, and finally to explain why you prefer that
solution”，其中的 reason 可以是材料中提到的，也可以是自己的类似经历。听 60-90 秒，准备 20 秒，说 60 秒。
1、Problem 往往不是单纯的，而是复杂矛盾的，分几个回合说完。
2、Solutions 针对 Problem 不同层面提出，注意提炼中心句。关切性的话可以略去。
3、问题不用听！每次都一样！省下 10-15 秒整理笔记。
4、答题时不要忘记给出自己的 Solutions，想不出来就选择一个 S 提出的方案或把 S 提出的各种办法按照轻重
缓急排序，形式上不可缺少！

是原创，是集杂家之所长。
新托福口语考试得分标准：
1、详细具体（空洞的形容词和花哨的句子结构不能得分）；
2、词汇量和语法现象要多；
3、规定时间内尽可能说快一点，多说一点，信息量大一点。我深深知道，中国学生缺乏大量的语言环境，在
仅有 15 至 30 秒的准备时间内要完美地做到以上几点是基本不可能的。那么，是不是要因为一个小小的口语考
试就放弃我们在加州的阳光下散步的权利呢？当然不会！既然我们不能依赖于现场发挥，那么就通过平时准备，

己的准备充满信心，２３分一点都不难，因为偶的发音真的很烂，只要比偶发音好的，可以冲刺２５分以上。

另外希望大家不要嘲笑偶，因为每个人背景不一样，我口语讲成这样已经知足了，因为自己起点很低，资质也
不够好。我当年学口语的目标就是，不管美音，英音，只要老外听懂的就是好音。所以其实偶的发音并无章可
循，纯粹是年幼时被口齿不清的老师虐待以及自己努力纠正听广播的结果。好了，不废话了，听一下下面几个
我得录音。如果需要这个录音软件的，可以跟我要，还是比较好用的（我男人学计算机软件的，这方面他找的
东西都很好）。
听完大家应该对自己有信心了吧，就是像我那么烂的人，能拿２３分，你能拿多少分呢？
