Romeo and Juliet: Act I, Scene 2: Oxymoron Activity: Students will complete their study of oxymorons with the activity. Romeo and Juliet - Act I, Scene 2: The cast of characters continues to appear: Lord Capulet and Paris are met, and Capulet’s attitude toward his daughter’s happiness is seen. The first example of fate is seen when the servant “informs” Benvolio and Romeo about the Capulet ball. Bell Ringer—Love is Blind: Students will identify two ways that love is blind. Romeo and Juliet: Act I, Scene 3: Lady Capulet and the Nurse are foiled, and Juliet is met. Her obedience to her parents is noted. A monologue is read, and other literary devices will be noted.
